Why would my 2 year old Jack Russell all of a sudden start getting dark skin spots all over his body?

I have a 2 year old jack russell that is mainly white with some brown patches. Lately he has been getting many dark skin patches. He was fixed about 3 months ago.

Do you have any tall grass around your house? It's called rain rot. It usually only happens to small dogs because they're so low to the ground. When they run through the grass water, dirt, and what ever else is in it can get onto them. It can be a bit annoying for the dog but it's not serious at all.Why would my 2 year old Jack Russell all of a sudden start getting dark skin spots all over his body?
I have a rat terrier female and she has the same exact thing mostly on her belly. She has is 7 now and has had it for years so its nothing life threatening. Unless the spots are actually sticking out like a bump, he's ok.
Call your local veterinary clinic :) They could be able to tell you what it is right over the phone, and what to do about it. If it is serious they will advise you to bring him in.
