How to remove wine stains from ostrich skin boots?

Hi, I am in need of some major help. I accidently spilled a little bit of red wine on my brand new ostrich skin boots and have no idea if there is anything I can do to remove the stain. I have searched all over the web and cannot find a solution. This is my first time asking a question on the internet so hopefully I will have some luck. Does anybody know what to do?How to remove wine stains from ostrich skin boots?
GAY! your a mean gay animal cruelest.

What dog food will not give my labradoodle gas or diarrhea or irritate her skin allergies?

She has tried Iams, Eukanuba, Purina One. She does not get diarrhea with Authority but she now has skin allergies, we think to a food source. I switched her to Blue because of the allergies and now she has diarrhea and gas. HELP !!What dog food will not give my labradoodle gas or diarrhea or irritate her skin allergies?
We had a dog who had allergies so I have tried quite a few diets. Just be careful as lots of dogs are allergic to chickens or beef. Our vet recommended that we tried something completely different that our dog had not had before, she recommended fish and chips (otherwise knows as fish and potato). You can purchase a kibble (Eukanuba) which has only fish and potato and add extras like tuna and mashed potato. Another one our vet also recommended was non-domesticated protein food, such as kangaroo, crocodile (depends on what you can get) and rice and vegetables.

The dog must be on the food for 8 weeks before you can say it did not work, so it takes a long time to try a few different menus, especially if you slowly transfer them over. There is a distinction that needs to be made between food allergies and food intolerances. Food allergies are true allergies and show the characteristic symptoms of itching and skin problems associated with canine and feline allergies. Food intolerances can result in diarrhea or vomiting and do not create a typical allergic response.

Several studies have shown that some ingredients are more likely to cause food allergies than others. In order of the most common offenders in dogs are beef, dairy products, chicken, wheat, chicken eggs, corn, and soy. As you may have noticed, the most common offenders are the most common ingredients in dog foods.

Good luck, but you have to try something different, just not another brand, most have similar products. If your dog gets better, then you can add one thing at a time and wait 8 weeks before adding another, which makes kibble difficult, as you can add beef but not corn, see what I mean. What dog food will not give my labradoodle gas or diarrhea or irritate her skin allergies?
You have tko cook for her it is the only way. Use 100 per cent chicken mince, vegetable scraps, garlic and sage. Pasta, rice and legumes can be added to thicken it but stay away from bread as the yeast is not good for the skin.

You can also get good powder vitamin supplements to put in the food. I have a16 year old dog who has had multiple allergies all his life. Grass, beef, fleas and dust to name a few and we have kept him happy and healthy all that time on this very diet. You should also get a good omega 3 fish oil supplement and wash the dog at least once a week in an anti fungal veterinary shampoo.
Food switches will cause gas and diarrhea if not done slowly. Without knowing what you dog is allergic to it will be hard to say which food would work best. Since corn, wheat and soy are common allergens for dogs I suggest purchasing a kibble that has none of these. You won't find a good food in a grocery or big box type family store. Visit a pet or feed store. Look for Canidae,Solid Gold,Eagle Pack Holistic,Blue Buffalo,Origen. All these foods are high quality and well balanced. You need to switch foods over a period of weeks. Start by mixing in 25% new food with 75% old food and gradually increase the new food while decreasing the old food amounts. In the meanwhile you can add 1 spoonful of PLAIN unflavored yogurt with meals to help with the gas. Good luck
You'll have to keep experimenting to find the right formula. If you really want to do this dog a favor, make it yourself. Cook up a big pot of brown rice with some cut up veggies (carrots, celery, spinach) and some stewing beef (the least pricey cuts are fine if you cook them for a long time to tenderize the meat before adding the other ingredients). You may be able to desensitize her by feeding her the home concoction for a few weeks before reintroducing regular food.
Iams Eukanuba and Purina One are all crappy foods. Authority / Blue not much better. The diarrhea and gas is likely due to the fact that you keep changing foods all the time. Find one good food ( Wellness or Canidae ) and stick with it. Change the dog over slowly to the new food and give the food at least 2 mos to see if the dog is doing well on it.
When you switched her, did you do so gradually?

Think of it this way...if you ate nothing but salad for a month and then had a bowl of chili, how do you think your system will react? It's the same with dogs. When switching to another food, you must do it slowly and in gradual steps. I start with 75% old food and 25% new food for a few days. If she seems to be doing ok after a while, increase to 50/50. It takes a couple of weeks to switch completely.

If you did switch her gradually and she's still having problems you'll have to invest in a new higher quality food. While Blue Buffalo isn't bad per se, there are better out there. Try Canidae all life stages...and remember, switch her slowly.
This is what I feed my Labradoodle but I make it at home.

but maybe u switched her to fast , ive read here recently that could cause the symptoms u mentioned . so maybe slow down and do a slower transition to the new food .
This is just a though, so please don't be offended. But, some people give their dogs ';people food';, that can cause problems for their pets. I might ask the vet for their professional opinion about which brand to try. Because they get that kind of question often, they will be the best ones to ask.
Lot's to try! but alway's get a vet opinion in what's best! More coming later! Also i have a cookbook on home cooking for dog's-made by a senior vet from the Lort Smith animal Shelter. I'll e-mail some of the receipies.

Try giving her a grain-free food - check into Taste of the Wild, I think that's a really good one. Also, be sure to switch foods slowly and allow a couple of weeks for her to get used to it and for the allergies to clear up.
Try an all natural, raw diet -- check out rawfeeding@yahoo.com -- not 100% sure of the website, but I've been checking it out and I'm trying it with my dogs due to severe allergies. It's worth a try and not anymore expensive than all those brands.

Try a different high quality food for your poodle/lab mix. Iams, Eukanuba, Purina ONE, and Authority are all low quality dog foods. Did you switch gradually when you switched to Blue?

Not all pet food is made equally. A lot of it is full of corn, by-products, dyes, unhealthy preservatives, filler grains and all sorts of nasty stuff. A lot of pet food companies are perfectly happy to the dump cheap leftovers and things that aren't safe for human consumption (from human food processing plants) into their foods. Will it kill your dog? No, it has to be nutritionally complete and safe to even be marketed. Is it healthy? Not by a long shot.

Corn is a low quality ingredient you never want to see in your pet food. Corn and low quality grains are two of the biggest culprits when it comes to food allergies in our pets.

Thankfully, there are some excellent dog foods being made these days that include organic, human grade ingredients rather than trash not fit for human consumption.

Examples of low quality foods to avoid: Anything you can find in a grocery store will be low end, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Royal Canin, Pedigree, Kibbles n' Bits, Beneful, Ol'Roy.

Examples of high quality foods to look for: Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, Canidae All Life Stages, Fromm Four Star, Merrick, GO Natural, Nature's Variety Prairie, Nature's Logic, Artemis Fresh Mix, Timberwolf Organics.

Although the high quality foods are more expensive, you're getting what you're paying for. Less filler material means more concentrated nutrients... this means you typically need to feed far less of the high quality food than you would of the low quality one. Which also means less poop!

Before following your vet's food recommendation, keep in mind that vets get /very/ little nutritional training during their schooling. Besides that, what training they /do/ get is usually sponsored or taught by the crappy pet food companies! They also often get paid to sell some of their products at their clinics (Science Diet, Royal Canin etc.)

A great option is to go with an entirely grainless diet. Many of the high quality foods now put out grainless formulas. Some good grainless diets include: Innova EVO, Wellness CORE, Blue Wilderness, Nature's Variety Instinct, Orijen, Horizon Legacy, Merrick Before Grain, Canidae Grain Free All Life Stages, Fromm Surf %26amp; Turf, Now! and Sold Gold Barking At The Moon, Taste of the Wild.

Some pretty decent foods can even be found in common pet stores. Petsmart carries Blue Buffalo products (such as the excellent grain free diet Blue Wilderness). Petco carries Wellness, Solid Gold, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack Holistic, Blue Buffalo, Castor %26amp; Pollux Organix, Pinnacle, and Halo. If you can't find a food, most of the high quality food brands have websites with store locators on them.

Another option, if you can't find anywhere around you that sells good foods, is to order your pet food online. Here's an excellent place to do so: http://www.petfooddirect.com/store/

Remember that foods should be switched gradually (mixing new slowly in with the old over about a two week period), especially when switching to a higher quality one, so as not to upset tummies.

Another option for feeding dogs is to feed raw. This is something that should be thoroughly researched before being attempted:

I have read that using lotion right after showering is key to locking in the moisture on dry or irritated skin. They all say avoid alcohol and water ';heavy'; products but what, specifically, are the best brands and types to use? There are TOO many choices!!!!What is the best moisterizer for dry skin for the body?
The best lotion I have tried is Hempz by Supre.

It is a lotion for tanners but I don't tan and I love it! I have really dry skin. It has Hemp seed oil in it and tons of vitamins. I got mine a a beauty supply store, it's a professional product you might be able to find at a salon. It has a nice light smell also. Kind of expensive but last a long time and worth it.

鈥?Pure hemp seed oil and extract are rich sources of essential fatty acids, amino acids and nutrients vital to providing skin hydration, nourishment and conditioning.

鈥?Shea Butter, Ginseng and natural extracts help calm, cool and soothe skin.

this may sound weird, but i use baby lotion...it works great and my skin is SO soft...like a baby's butt!! ^_^
    Jergens!

I stayed in california during the christmas season. Due to the dry weather, my skin got so dry and painful! I've been a faithful user of The Body Shop's body butters, but it didn't help my skin condition much.

My sister recomended me Jergens, and I tried it for 2 weeks. I applied it everytime after my bath. It help to hydrate and soothe my skin, and the results are amazing!

As compared with The Body Shop body butters, it's not that greasey and it's affordable too!

You must try it! It's must have for everyone!
    oil of olay
    Mary Kay rules!
    grace moisturiser or chanel
Plain and simple sorbolene cream. It is cheap as chips and works better than any expensive creams I have ever tried. If you don't like the thickness of sorbolene cream, look for a product which is based on either Apricot Kernel Oil (Nutrimetics has a great one) or Vitamin E enriched.
The best I have ever used is Serious Skin Care Vitamin C Body Butter. It is just excellent. Also Kiehl's yellow body lotion.
Try Vaseline Intensive Care lotion. It's cheap and not greasy.
    Baby oil
The Body Shop has a variety of moisterizers that are all natural and not tested on animals. I would definatly consider this brand it has worked for me and I swear by it. Go to www.thebodyshop.com and you can buy there or search for a local store
You should also change your soap. depending on the type of soap you are using, you might be actually making it harder for your skin to stay moist if you are using the wrong type of soap. I would like to suggest some of Arbonne products. They have a great ';body oil'; that I use myself and on my girls. You should check it out: http://www.gleamingskin.myarbonne.com

http://www.marykay.com/sstevensWhat eyeshadow colors go best with Cool Skin tones?
From a guy's perspective I'm not crazy about beauty products, but if a girl is only going to wear one I'd like it to be eye shadow. It just adds a cool accent. I think light green and light blue would also look nice. You have blue eyes, right? Yeah, I think that'd be cool. Also silver, because it looks better on people with dark hair than does gold.
i think all colors because you have fair skin and you must know also what types of eyes you have so it's easy for you to know what colors/combination matches your eyeshadow...
It is really impossible to do a color consult on line.

However, IF you really do have cool skin tones you need to stay away from the ';earthy tones'; such as brown, rust, gold and orange.

Some cool tones look great in ';true'; or crayon box colors of green and blue.... other cools look better in true colors that have been frosted ( powder blue would be an example of a frosted color) or silvered shades. A true grey is good on all cool skin types. You would probably look fantastic in magenta and some shades of aqua or turquoise might be okay.
For natural-looking cool skin tones, black can be very nice if you want an evening or more dramatic look. If you're looking for a more natural look, try choosing some warm earthy tones. People with cool skin tones could also pull off shadows with blue undertones.

Here's a chart you can use if you're not entirely sure: http://www.beautyden.com/beautycolors.sh鈥?/a>

    Hope I've helped!

Is it possible to get a lighter skin tone?

Please, no Michael Jackson jokes. Seriously, if you stay out of the sun or something, will your skin turn lighter? Like my thighs are several shades lighter than the rest of my body.

Thanks. Is it possible to get a lighter skin tone?
There are whitening creams and stuff out there that you could use. Make sure to exfoliate too. Its probably easier to become whiter in the winter since there is not as much sun during the winter... wear lotions that have spf in them too. I hope this will help.Is it possible to get a lighter skin tone?
BILLY MAYS HERE WITH OXYCLEAN!!!! Are u seriously that stupid? the sun cant go through your pants and tan your thighs.......they are obviously going to be lighter than your arms. unless u try and tan...?!?!?!

What is the nutrition value of avocado skin and pit?

I heard during Vitamix blender presentation in Costco that it's good to put avocado pit and skin into blender as well.

Bottom line is that avocado seed has ~ 2 times more Na/Ca/Mg than it's soft parts.

The pit! geez.. just think as if you were an animal... Do you see yourself ever chewing an avacado pit with pleasure? This should answer your question.. And it may be yes...?? not me!!!

I would think if we were living as a tribe, we would want to plant and protect any avacado seed or seedling as one seed could be potentially a much greater amount of food with time... Us people should look to the easiest food on our body that gives us the most amount of energy... An avacado seed or skin is not. The flesh is one of the best food sources though.......

Is exfoliating every day good for the skin?

    Hi,

I have quite sensitive skin which is prone to dryness - and I'm a fan of Simple products as they never irritate my skin. However, at the moment my skin is becoming quite oily - especially on my forehead - and I'm getting quite a few spots.

The only cleansers Simple do for oily skin are exfoliating washes - but is exfoliating my skin every day good for it, especially with it being sensitive?

Thanks! Is exfoliating every day good for the skin?
no...if you exfoliate every day it actually breaks down the collagen in the skin. it ages your skin faster that way.

I limit that to every other day in the shower.

exfolation doesn't offer much as a remedy for oily skin...it actually stimulates the skin to produce more oil, making it worse.

I assume that you're from the UK. in the states they have facial products called ';Clean and Clear';. if you have that over there, use this blackhead reducing toner. it works miracles for oily skin. maybe this skincare line (simple I think) has a toner. you should check it out.Is exfoliating every day good for the skin?
Exfoliating is important for every skin, however a manual exfoliation (beads) can be too aggressive as sensitive skin doesn't have the same barrier that keeps the skin from being irritated. I recommend using a glycolic face wash instead with a baby cloth. The best I've ever use is Natura E glycolic wash but DDF also has a glycolic wash as well. Also you can always use something on a daily basis with salicylic in it. The total turnaround oil free concentrate from Clinique is supposed to be amazing for acne. Make sure you talk to the professional at the counter on how to use it as you have to put it over top of your moisturizer. Also don't buy into their crap about the 3 step system, the only thing you'll want from the line are the oil free dramatically different lotion and the total turnaround. 3 step is a bit too harsh for a sensitive skin and you definitely don't want the 7 day scrub.
Exfoliating every day is a little to much, however 2-3 times a week is ideal.

If you have oily/sensitive skin, There's a facial scrub I use that works great! It's good for all skin types, but not very abrasive at all it's very light so it's good for sensitive skin it will not irritate it, it will also help with oily skin. It's an oatmeal face scrub that is an all natural, no chemical or paraben product based from Thailand (I use most of their product, it's great!!!)

Also to help with the excess oils you should try a mask 2-3 times a week as well, The clay mask from this collection works wonders. It absorbs the toxins and dirt that's embedded in your pores, as well as the excess oils. And the rice bran oil that's in it as well, helps moisturize the skin, but to keep it balanced. So it will help with the dryness as well as the oil.

    http://www.thann.ca/skin-care.html
exfoliating too much is bad for you skin, it removes natural oils from your skin that are actually good for you. If you do happen to have alot of oil you should exfoliate about twice a week -especially if you have sensitive skin-.[if you like simple organic products and have sensitive skin you should really try Origins products you can find them at Macy's -plus they have a great exfoliants-
Only light exfoliation, harsh exfoliation or chemicals will cause your skin to break out or become more oily. Exfoliation can be good for your skin because it removes all dead skin cells and such, but too much irritates the skin even more :( Since your skin is so sensitive, try doing it every other day or less if you notice flare ups in acne/oiliness.
Do wash ur face with cold water in the morning n at night b4 going to bed, paying too much attention on ur face will get it worst, i dnt know if girls like to use GILLETTE. i used to av an oily face bt wen i started using the face wash+body wash oil control i no more av an oily
depends on your skin type, how dirty and oil your skin is/ how dry it is, and the strength of the exfoliator.

find an exfoliator for your skin type and use acording to the directions.

if your still worried than talk to a doctor/ dermatologist

    good luck!!!
Have you tried making your own skin care skin care treatments? Using highly effective ingredients, you

can save money and get the greatest results then in the store. www.faceliftrecipes.com
no, you shouldnt exfoliate daily! You need a good oil free moisturizer. I know you're a fan of one product but I started using aveeno moisturizer with soy complex and it is SO wonderful. Not greasy and REALLY keeps your skin moist.
    http://www.dermalogica.com/uk/yourskin/6鈥?/a>
no exfoliation every day is not good. you should do it around 2-3 times a week, less on your face.
2-3 times a week would be gooooood.

Vaseline usually works nicely on dry skin. it'll restore moisture that your body is obviously lacking. you can find it at any local drug store. it should work fine.

What's the best way to treat skin peeling from a bad sunburn?

The skin is peeling on the face. What's the best way to treat skin peeling from a bad sunburn?
Constant moisture. The skin peels because it is dead...the sun burned it off the top layer of you. The best way to minimize and treat pealing in constant moisture, in and out.

    Drink ALOT of water.

Put on moisturizer on your face/body while your skin is still wet, this locks in moisture.

**You dont want to use a scrub until your skin is not burned or damaged. Wait till it is healed first. What's the best way to treat skin peeling from a bad sunburn?
get aloe vera lotion/ aloe vera gel.
You need to get Aloe Vera *After Sun Gel* (its green/clear) Its made specifically for after bad burn! Hope that helps!

    Good Luck!
Don't know, but when you find out let me know because the same thing is happening to my sister.
    Pure Aloe Vera Gel
I just had one of the worste sunburns of my life recently. lol. I totally know how you feel.

The peeling in normal, because that skin is dried out and dead, so it needs to be replaced with new skin. Let it peel naturally, don't force it. If you have skin hanging off your face or something like that, feel free to pull it off, just be careful, because if you peel some stuff that isn't ready to come off, you could make yourself bleed.

If you want something to help your skin and maybe even make you feel better (less pain) then get aloe vera gel. That is what I used. If you want, you can put it in the refridgerator, so it is cool when you put it on your face. It is really very soothing.

    Good luck!
I've gotten some bad burns in the past, and since I go nude at the beach, they've sometimes been on pretty sensitive areas. I've used Lubriderm to keep my skin soft and moisturized after a sunburn, it it seemed to keep the peeling down a bit. Some friends use Eucerin for the same thing...both can be found at drug stores in the skin care section.

    Good luck!
i just had the same exact problem... What you need to do is first off try to stay out of the sun as much as posible until it all heals. And if u cnt put as much sunscreen as you can. Since peeling is a sign that ur skin is all dried out try to put lotion on the burned spots and the spots that peeling after putting lotion on for a while the peeling will go away but there will probably be a little discoloration from the peeling

Well that worked for me.. So i hope it works you.

    good luck!!!!
Aloe gel - you can find it at Target. It's good for your skin and will make you feel much better :)
keep it moisturized.....and next time you get burned, use some apple cider vinegar to prevent the peeling......
Lots and lots of lotion for extremely dry skin. I like moisture therapy from Avon.
You can buy some facial scrub - usually apricot scent. Rub it in your hands first then lather onto face.
Get a mosturizing lotion. Its peeling cause its all dried out.
I feel your pain. My face is peeling as well and now I'm two toned. I've been trying to keep it moist with Oil of Olay but its not working.
Do not add anything now and wait for natural cure, but from now and then you should add a perfect sunscreen few minutes before going out, like the following ones:

there is ';after-sun'; gels that help. just type after sun gel into google and it will come up with all sorts of brands.

otherwise, don't expose yourself to the sun and let it peel... it's not going to be fun but at least you probably wont' burn as easily the next time...

Is this enough for a good combination skin care routine?

I use a clearasil blackhead sea salt scrub at night, and in the morning i use a neutrogena oil free gel wash. I usually add a little lotion to just my cheeks but I don't know what to use or where to get an oil free moisturizer. Is there anything else I need to be doing differently? Any kitchen ingredient treatments would be great too. Thanks! Is this enough for a good combination skin care routine?
Well here's my 3 Skin Care Products advice for a good skin care routine.

Your washing sounds very good, but yeah if you have acne skin try a,

    1. benzoyl peroxide treatment at night.

And for all over more glowy clear soft skin,

    2. take Hair Skin And Nail vitamins everyday (I get mine from GNC.) Also, increase your water intake.

As for moisturizers, I suggest these brands

    3. Clinique and Neutrogena.

Look for ';oil-free'; on the labels. Is this enough for a good combination skin care routine?
You can get oil free moisturizer at any drugstore, Clean %26amp; Clear makes a really good one. It sounds like a pretty good routine, just make sure you don't over exfoliate, you should actually only do it a few times a week. If you over do exfoliation it can actually cause your skin to produce more oil.
I use Neutrogena Oil-Free moisture for combination skin, it's non-comeogenic which means it won't break you out, and it's drying enough to not make you shiny, yet still moisturizes enough so your skin doesn't dry out. it's great! You can get it at target, meijer, walmart, any store like that.

    Good luck!
i think at night you should still use th scub but also use a gel or cream that prevent acne/blackheads.

What is the best blush for oily skin so that it will hold longer?

Also i've tried several kinds of mineral blush and it never works. What is the best blush for oily skin so that it will hold longer?
i have oily skin, but,i use a matte cream blush. tarte cheek stain (: look it up. it rolls on,but not exactly as a cream.its hard to explain.its a lipstick texture.it blends easily and gives you a reall pretty rosy glow (: trust me.i wear it everyday and love it.What is the best blush for oily skin so that it will hold longer?
i know the girl said the make up for ever one but it is not MINERALISED! get the mineral vail. i also have oily skin and i use that one and it makes your skin feel so soft! and it last throughout the day! and for blush, go to sephora and get yourself the right color, because for darker skin you need a darker blush. for myself, i have extremely fair skin and i have smashbox blush which works perfect for me. it is a matter of trying! oh and at sephora you could also ask for samples:D
Heres a specific video on how to apply it to oily skin.

Sometimes, it doesnt matter what kind you wear, but how you put it on.

But, I have super oily skin too so I know what this problem is all about. You need to buy some blotting papers and keep them with you at your desk or in your purse. You can find some very inexpensive ones at my store on b-glowing.com. They are Papier Poudre and are only $3.00 for a packet. You'll want to blot every few hours that you feel you are getting shiney. These will leave a nice matte finish to your skin and the powder will look like you've just put fresh makeup on. The only problem is that your blush will fade away. I alway reapply a little blush if I feel like I'm losing too much of it.

I would highly recommend a mineral makeup for Blush. It's all natural and won't clog your pores. Neutrogena makes a Sheer Bronzer that you can use as a blush. It comes in in a portable push up brush so you won't need to carry more than one item along with you. Mineral makeup is natural and will not clog pores. If you want to invest more money than in a drugstore brand there are a lot of great mineral makeup brands out there that make Blushes. Bare Essentials, Susan Posnick, Sheer Coverage and more. If you look up any of these on the Internet you'll find them.

    Hope this helps!
Powder blush is great for all skin types, but best for oily skin and anyone looking for long-lasting color. NARS Powder Blush Cheek Color is the best. http://www.keeplookingbusy.com/itemDetai鈥?/a>
I have oily skin too and I use make up forever's translucent powerder after I out on my foundation and it will absorb oil through out the day. So try applying a mineral blush after you use an oil absorbing powder.

How can a dark skinned person make their skin whiter?

I was wondering how a dark skinned person can get their face whiter. I'm Indian and my face is very dark brown. I would like it to be lighter. Does anyone know of any creams or such that work? ThanksHow can a dark skinned person make their skin whiter?

A shade or two lighter foundation. But you should really love the skin your in! Your lucky I am white but I have to tan all the time wheras your tan 365!! Cheeeeers
You can use whitening creams and soaps. Choose skin care products with any of the following proven effective whitening ingredients: kojic acid, licorice, arbutin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid.

Lightening effects can be seen in as early as 6-8 weeks with regular use.

Check out our website for an extensive line of whitening products which are safe and effective, dermatologist-tested and BFAD approved.

Yes but why would you want to?
You should not WANT to change your skin - but you could try makeup or google ';a232 or '; ';skin lightener';.
There is a cream called AMBI that lightens the skin. You can find it on the aisle with all the facial products.
why would you want to,im pale as hell man.if i stay in the sun like an hour i burn to a crisp.consider yourself lucky and just be happy with who you are.
body scrubs, whitening facial scrubs, and staying inside...but other than that your pretty much screwed...stay out of the sun, or wear spf 50 whenever you go out

  • How can I get rid of dry skin on my face without making it oily?

Lately, my face has been extra dry, and I'm not sure why. I'll apply some lotion, which I recieved from my dermatologist for acne treatment, and about three minutes later my face has dried up again. I've even tried shaving daily, thinking it will keep the dead layers of skin from building up, but nothing works. I'm out of ideas, and I'm fed up with this dry face. Any help?? Thanks!!How can I get rid of dry skin on my face without making it oily?
it will get worse if you have air con or heating as it dries out the skin. but something like a sensitive skin moisturiser would help (less oil), which your going to have to apply as soon as it dries up, it will gradually take longer and longer in between applications as the moisture in your skin builds up. hard work i know, but it will get better. How can I get rid of dry skin on my face without making it oily?
    drink lots of water
U need a moistureizer or repairing lostion. Non-Oil based ofcourse.
    aloe vera gels
Well the acne lotion is probably drying. It is okay to use it if you need to treat acne, you can just use it to ';spot treat'; any breakouts. Use a gental bar soap like Cetaphil and a light lotion such as Cetaphil or Theraplex. Shaving can be an irritant too, use some hair conditioner as your ';shaving gel'; when you shave.
i have dry skin, and I use the regular baby oil or the baby oil with shea and cocoa butter in it. Works good for me :)
talk to your dermatologist again and ask for something else.
Try the Clinique counter at the dept. store. They have a oil free moisturizer.
Use Dove deep moisture facial lotion. It's the best!

or I think Nivia has something for men but i wouldn't know how that works

How did michael jackson get his white skin?

Don't argue that its that stupid virtiligo or whatever skin disease because it is NOT it. Why on earth would an black man get a European long nose and lighten his skin? Simple reason, he was an entertainer and blacks in the 70's thru 80's werent as accepted as whites. I want to know the procedure. I'm pretty sure it has to do with chemicals and laser or something. How did michael jackson get his white skin?
He has a severe case of Vitiligo and was very self concious about the blotches of white skin so he got his skin chemically bleached. As for the changes in his features, he was not a very confident guy and never was happy with his appearance so he kept getting surgeries to fix it. but like so many people, he had an addiction to it and never felt satisfied, which made his nose practically dissapear because he had SO much work doneHow did michael jackson get his white skin?
He does have Virgilio, he had white patches on his skin he put brown make up to cover it up in the early 80s but eventually it was to much so you have a choice go with patches or all white. He's a celebrity so he had to go all white. We live in a fickle world so patchy skin won't look cute.

He had to get his nose done cause he broke it then the doctor made a mistake on it then he got it done again eventually he over did the nose job. But how many famous people got there nose then lots.
he was very upset to be with black peoples all the time ,so i made a donation to is doctor and joined the white peoples ,and a medical justification .he also try ed to replace is flesh with plastic .get married with Presley girl ,get disgusted and turned to little boy's ,pay the parent some money to sut up in court ,and finally our national hero..............overdose .i like to know if he turned black after death .
theres no denying that he has alot of cosmetic surgery done. but before you come with your ignorant comment maybe you should actually do some research. I KNOW michael vitiligo, and he did lighten his skin...but why? when most of your skin is covered in light blotches, it makes sence to either lighten or darken the color so that i could be even, since the vitiligo was over most of his body, he chose to take on a process of DEPIGMENTATION. personally, i think he had every reason why to. My mom has vitiligo, and its hard enough for her, imagine someone who has to be on the spotlight every day of their life.

*HE GOT HIS NOSE DONE BECAUSE HIS FATHER AND OTHER CHILDREN TEASED HIM ABOUT IT - BUT SO DID THE REST OF HIS SIBLINGS...DOES JANET WANT TO BE WHITE?

*DO YOU REALLY THINK ITS THAT SIMPLE TO JUST LIGHTEN YOUR SKIN THAT DRASTICALLY?
I dont think he had it either. I think he developed ALOT of issues the past 10 years or so. He looked a lot better with his original nose and when he was black. He just seemed to get weirder over the years. But i am sure there is a way you can dye or skin, i mean they are doing face transplants and stuff so im sure you can. But i have never seen anyone with that disease only him. He was still an icon though!
He had vitiligo, as did his sister Latoya. Look up pictures of him and you can see the splotches on his skin. In the end he went through a procedure called ';depigmintation'; This gets rid of all the remaining color on the skin so the skin all matches.

    http://popspiracy.blogspot.com/2007/06/m…
I thought he went and got his skin bleached and then got his nose done via plastic surgery. No the skin disease wasnt it, but thats the reason why he bleached his skin. He never thought he looked pretty enough for humankind. Everyone criticized him about the he looked. And its not fair that he was picked on.

    **************************
    YES he did have VITILIGO,

but yes-- he also had his skin depigmented.

eventually, the white splotches became so big that instead of covering them up, it was easier to make the darker spots light. he had depigmentation to even out his skin.
Well, you can't say he doesn't have the skin disease. It makes white patches on the skin -- maybe he did something to turn ALL of his skin white, so it wouldn't be brown with white patches -- but honestly, so what? It's his skin and his business.
'Don't argue that its that stupid vitiligo' How do you know its not. Are you his doctor or a doctor, whats your status?

edit: he started getting rhinoplasty after he broke his nose, wow you talk as if you really know the facts, you don't know s**t.
Michael had vitiligo. If you have vitiligo you can a procedure done where you can turn your skin white so you don't look retarded with spots on your skin. I think he had the procedure.

    Love ya MJ, R.I.P.
HE did have vitiligo, but he bleached his skin as well.

You see, vitiligo is white patches, so bleaching ALL of the skin to make it even is logical.
He had the money to fix what he wanted to fix.

His dad made fun of his nose all his life, and he had a skin disease that made him basically look like a dalmation.
Are u trying to do it yourself. Well, he probably did have vitiligo and then got his skin depigmented with mono.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ6b7kHGs…
Oh please. VITILIGO!! Damn do you people worry about other celebs who get nosejobs?!? Its been said Michael had more white fans then black. He was accepted regardless!
    Chemicals and lasers?

You are obviously an idiot, he had a skin disease called vitiligo...look it up.
    Ohhmygosh.

It's vitiligo for crying out flipping loud! He got several discolored blotches on his skin and blended in the rest of his skin with pale makeup. Get your facts straight!

    RIP MJ%26lt;3
because he wanted to!!!!!, when he looked in the mirror, he saw his father and he ddint like it, so he changed it..AND IT WAS THAT VILLITIGO THING ASELL u idiot
it's called vitilgo, and if you know so much about him, then go live with Joe Jackson for a week, and we'll see how you turn out
the people who answered this r dumb as door nails!!

my god u dumb asses, no offense or anything but really?? he had a very common disease that black people get. my god people
he some kind of diesease that made large white spots on his skin and you have the choice to make your skin all white or have white spots so he choose all white

    idk about his nose
He had a skin disease called vitiligo.

    It is sad.
that's a really good question, but who knows what he did. i'm just hoping you're not going to do the procedure to yourself!
    cosmetic surgery

    yep i know

    its thatttttttttttttt simple
WOW....YoU Didnt knOw tHAt He BLEachEd hIs skIn!!!
how didn't he get his white skin....
i belive they used a bleach of some sort like hair die but a body die
he never had any skin disease, he lied just like he lied about not having plastic surgery except for his nose, just like he lied about being the biological father of his children, just like he lied about the mother of his third child being a black woman. just like he lied about molesting young boys, this man was a pathological liar!!! talented yes, smart, calculating, yes, he lived his life in competition with elvis, king of rock - king of pop,

graceland - neverland and even married his daughter. ultimately he died exactly like him. a drug addict!!! even his fake soft voice was a lie.

people will want to believe at all costs that michael, there beloved hero, was a innocent child like man.. it's all one big lie!! to get attention and stay in the spotlight, even at his trial, he was jumping up on cars to get to the center of attention, and who could forget his pajama stunt or making the accusation of police brutality. this man was simply a attention whore.

michael jackson hated being black!! that's the bottom line, so much so he didn't even pass on his genes to have his own children.

why do you think he has white kids?? virtligo, my ***!!

he had a lie for every question martin bashir asked in his infamous documentary, which after it aired he got very angry at martin for making him look bad he did that himself with his constant contridictions and obvious lies. he equated skin bleaching to white people going to a tanning salon. people need to listen to what he really said.

while denying he had more than just a nose job, he then would say ';all celebrities have plastic surgery'; as if to justify the fact he had a nose job, his lips done, a brow lift, cheek and chin implants a cleft put in his chin and not mention botox and restylne, my mother works for a plastic surgeon. just look at his photos from when he was 18. he completely redid his face.

i went to junior high with latoya, she never had virtiligo, she fixed her nose and bleached her skin.

michael jackson was no victom, he was a masterful manipulator and loved all the attention!! he surrounded himself with yesmen. if anyone said no, they were banished. his biggest fear was not being talked about he probably would love to see all this media hoopla surrounding his death.

he is loving it!! the only victpms are his children!!

What happens if chocolate gets in the skin?

If chocolate is applied to the skin, will pimples appear on your face? What happens if chocolate gets in the skin?
No, pimples will not appear if chocolate is applied to the skin. If you melt the chocolate and mix it with some olive oil you can use it on you face as a facial. Leave on for about 20-30 min. and get a warm wash cloth and place on the face and wipe off, splash the face with cool water and pat dry. Have funWhat happens if chocolate gets in the skin?
    no.

    why would pimples form?

you do not get pimples from chocolate you get it from stress.

when people are stressed they eat chocolate so there.

chocolate is used as a facial in some spas.
not sure, but wash it off after or it'll be all sticky and yuck.

How do you get rid of moles, skin tags etc...?

I have a load of moles and skin tags that are raised and I really want to get rid of them, by any means necessary. Anyone have any ideas? ThanksHow do you get rid of moles, skin tags etc...?
i have one way but it'll hurt. and imperfections in a way makes us perfect, i doubt you'll understand what i mean...How do you get rid of moles, skin tags etc...?
I tried the cotton thing didn't work. I was in agony and had real trouble getting the cotton off. See your GP. Much safer
    uh, surgery, dur
Go to a dermatologist to burn off the moles... and see what else you can do..
James mate...you're handsome enough with your moles...i mean all the girls want you...and the boys....lol

    James
go to your gp and they will remove them if they are going to cause you any harm. the gp will freeze them then slice them off. its not painful doing it but can hurt a little coming out of the freeze.
My doctor says I can cut my own skin tags off -- as long as they're not too big. It HURTS though!

You really should see a dermatolgist for the moles, though, because they need to be biopsied to be sure they're not cancerous.
yes u can get skin tags burnt off,a relative of mine had it done but said it nipped a little..and for moles u can have them cut out but it will leave a scar, see ur doctor.
    Skin tags yes moles no.

Tie string/cotton round the s/t and in a few days it will fall off.
You can lose a skin-tag by tying a cotton thread tightly around it. In a day or two it will fall off.
Go to your doctor and say one has changed colour or shape recently you will then get sent to hospital to get it removed - you will likely get a scalpel happy surgeon who want to take every mole on your body off.

    I wouldn't recommend trying a DIY job.
Surgery for moles and if they are on your face a good plastic surgeon is the best route. Your GP should be able to freeze your skin tags (like a wart) and cut them off.

How can I take care of my skin while swimming so much?

Recently I read that swimming or spending a lot of time in water actually takes away a lot of your body's natural oils and makes you age a lot faster which has me scared because I spend about 4+ hours swimming per day. Any advice? Should I stop swimming so much? Or am I just worried over nothing? How can I take care of my skin while swimming so much?
Try using a replenishing lotion, such as Olay. This will keep your skin from drying out.

you dont need powder, a good foudation like estee lauder double wear is what does the job, it will take away the shine and moisturise the dry areas of your skin. If your t-zone is still oily just powder on the t-zone only.
Mary Kay has a great powder. They also have a cream foundation that drys to a powder. They have them for Oily skin types as well as Normal-Dry.

What can i do to make my skin lighter?

I have a tan skin color, but lately since I've been going to the beach a lot i have been getting darker and I don't like the color. What can i do to make my skin lighter?
Well all you can really do is stay out of the sun. Sunscreen won't help because that just protects your from UV rays. Not the rays that make you tan. So yeah, stay out of the sun. What can i do to make my skin lighter?
sit in a bath filled with water and then put a bunch of lemons in it and then just soak in it.
Exfoliate, and wear heavy sunscreen. It will go away with time

What is a good moisturizer for my skin that wont make i oily?

I just moved down south and my skin has gotten so dry I have never had to use a moisturizer before so what do i use. Help me outWhat is a good moisturizer for my skin that wont make i oily?
I like oil of olay , they do have oil free products and they work really well.

I have naturally oily skin and alot of facewashes and stuff designed for it tend to overdry my skin.

Olay products so far have been the best for me.What is a good moisturizer for my skin that wont make i oily?
Clinique- Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. This stuff is the best; however, if you are on a tight budget, I would go with Oil of Olay. Their moisturizers aren't bad.
    Either Jergens or Aveeno
mac cosmetics makes a rally good one
Aveno is great because it usually has oatmeal in it that helps with dry skin. Although you should talk to your dermotologist so that they can recommend something that is perfect for your skin type.
i have naturally oily skin and absolutely love Curel. i use it from head to toe..... even on my face.

Does anyone know how to get the smell of daylily milk off of your skin?

My boyfriend was pruning back some daylilies in the garden and he got some of the milk on his hands. He has tried everything, from rubbing his hands on stainless steel to rubbing toothpaste on them. As well as lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, tomato juice, and vanilla. The smell is awful. Please help if you know the answer.Does anyone know how to get the smell of daylily milk off of your skin?
I was going to say tomato juice, but he tried that. Maybe make a paste of baking soda and rub it in really well. Or rubbing alcohol.

If you have charcoal briquettes (not pretreated with lighter fluid), they are supposed to be good at removing odor. He could try rubbing one on his hands or grinding it into a powder and using it dry or mixing it with some water.

Might be that he'll just have to wait for it to wear off. :( Good luck.Does anyone know how to get the smell of daylily milk off of your skin?

What is best way to smooth dead skin on leg ankle after cast has been removed?

I have been putting lotion on it after my shower, but skin gets flaky, like when after a sunburn, any advice? What is best way to smooth dead skin on leg ankle after cast has been removed?
sugar scrub. take 1/4 cup or so of sugar and add just enough water to form a paste. rub it on gently, leave it on for 5 minutes or so, then rinse it off. Works wonders on dry, cracked skin, too.

Follow up with aloe, from a plant if possible (it works best and isn't full of chemicals)What is best way to smooth dead skin on leg ankle after cast has been removed?
    use an exfoliating scrub.
i had a operation on knee and had the same problem, i found using a liquid soap with aloe in it, i am sorry i forget the name of the one i had, and a loofah helped a lot.
When you go to bed at night, put a lot of Vaseline on it then put a big sock on and sleep that way. I learned it from an article Farrah Fawcett wrote many years ago. She did it every night on her feet and hands to keep them pretty and soft.
Your leg has been used to being in a cast and your skin has gotten used to the trapped sweat and moisture. I would say just leave it alone for a month (i.e. no lotion). just shower and wash it normally. You can try using a shower sponge, but I wouldn't get too rough with it either. This is what helped me after I got rid of my cast. Good luck!
    moisturizing lotion
moisture and exfoliate --- purchase some type of cream product with an exfoliator. Don't be too hard on your skin or you can end up with a leg ulcer. Keep moisturizing, I would do it several times a day, the dead skin will eventually slough off.
Get your leg wet, and scrub real good with a brush, like one you would use on a cat (the soft bristles), and don't put so much lotion, because it won't let the skin naturally dry and fall off.
What I did is was scrub with a loofah, to get rid of most of the skin that was about to fall off then I used a body butter, cause it's not as greasy as lotion and I did this about... 3-4 times a day for 2-3 days, and it wasn't perfect but it was close enough that I could go to my boyfriends graduation in a skirt
You need to exfoliate. Try a loofah sponge or some St. Ives Apricot scrub in the shower and then moisturize.
take a shower..and rub hard with a towel

  • What is the best product for problem skin?

I have tried Proactiv, Nature's Cure, etc. The products work for awhile and my skin is clear, but after about two months I am breaking out. My pores seem huge particlarly on my nose and cheeks. I am considering a dermatologist, but I have to wait until the end March to a transition with my insurance.

Help! What have you used that has been successful???What is the best product for problem skin?
I have tried almost everything, and nothing seemed to help...I found out that my problem was using products that contain heavy amounts of oil. I have always used body lotion on my face, and I found out recently that it's very bad. Body lotions contain lots of oil that can clog pores. Try an oil-free moisturizer. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free moisturizer for sensitive skin and it is wonderful! Also, use an oil free makeup/foundation. As far as cleansers, I was told not to use anything with salicylic acid. Wonderful for some people, not so great for others, including me. It contains a peeling agent that can make dry skin dryer. As far as cleansers go, I recommend Cetaphil. It is very gentle, and works. Wash your face with cool water. This closes pores and makes them less visible. I have been using this regimen for about a week, and haven't had a breakout yet. My blackheads appear to be going away (they are decreasing in size) and my pores are smaller and less visible. This has worked great for me! Hope this helps and good luck! What is the best product for problem skin?

What's the best acne control for skin problems?

I have had skin problems ever since puberty and I'm getting married in a few months so I want my skin looking good. I've tried loads of different products but non of them have worked so far. Can anyone recommend any acne control for skin that really works? What's the best acne control for skin problems?
Hi kirstie, firstly congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I used to suffer from acne myself and tried an endless amount of products and had no luck until I saw this guy called Chris Gibson on the channel A morning show talking about how he could clear up your skin in three days. I tried it myself and had amazing results in not quite three days but in less than a week my skin was nearly totally clear! if you want to take a look at his site here is a link http://snipurl.com/1qk52

    Best wishes

katy xWhat's the best acne control for skin problems?
2 words...duac gel...it works better than proactive and it's da only thing that worked for me...a week or so of using it and my acne already went bye bye...you would need a prescription for that though luck to you! ;p
    This is what I do.

Aloe vera gel mixed with 2 drops of tea tree essential oil works really well and has been shown in studys to improve acne. Doing scrubs is not good for acne at all because it irritates acne so I use warm oatmeal with a little bit of honey to exfoliate which is more gently. A french ';green'; clay mask works very well also. It removes impurities from deep within and your acne may get worse before it gets better using the french clay. You should try an organic cleanser. (You can get them at a health food store.) I use a herbal astringent recipe from ';The herbal body book'; by Stephanie Tourles which you can get cheap on half.com. Works really good and is so soothing. Use a oil free moisturizer at might on your face, neck and chest. Try taking vitamins A, E, D, C, Bcomplex (or B5) vitamin %26amp; Zinc. Also eat healthy lean meats, fresh fruits and vegtables. Boxed foods and fast food will make it so much worse!

    Hope this helps!!
Try this simple remedy. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
    Cleanse,tone and moisturise!!!

In SA we have a range called Skinfree...Its expensive(R200) but it works! It contains Australian Sandalwood oil and a lot of vitamins.Try eating lots of apples and drinking 2-3 litres of water daily.

If your hubby's any good he wont care what your face looks like, you'll still be his gorgeous bride...

Lemon Juice, either from the bottle or squeezed from a real lemon on a swab or cotton facial pad, How to remove fake blood stains from skin?
use something like methylated spirits or mineral turpentine BUT use it with caution. Don't get it in your eyes mouth or ur nose. pretty logical not to get it in you eyes or mouth or nose but i don't want to be held responsible for loss of eyesight or death from drinking it.

if that doesn't get it off then i guess over time it will dissapear
Try mixing baking soda with water to form a paste and then scrub on the stain area.

How can you get rid of flushed skin?

My skin is always pink (for whatever it's worth, my heritage is mostly Scandinavian and Scots-Irish). If I get embarrassed or even if I experience mild heat (by ';mild';, I mean being in a building where the heat is a bit high), it gets flushed almost like a mild sunburn. Other than a slightly warm feeling, there is no discomfort. This isn't rosacea because it doesn't manifest itself as tiny dots.

Even if it's not rosacea , you can try rosacea skin care products to get rid of redness and warm feeling.

Is using a bunch of different face scrubs and treatments at once bad for your skin?

I have a bunch of different kinds of cleansers and astringents and lotions. A lot of the time I mix it up, and use them in different orders on different days. Is this bad for my skin?Is using a bunch of different face scrubs and treatments at once bad for your skin?
Using too much of the same ingredients in all of your products can be too harsh. I switch up my products from season to season because of the oil production. Just try to find a routine for each season and stick to it. However, if you haven't seen any adverse effect I am assuming it would be fine.Is using a bunch of different face scrubs and treatments at once bad for your skin?
Any type of chemical is bad for your skin and your health. Everything is absorbed through the skin.
I would advise you to establish a cleansing routine with suitable products for your skin type. I am sure there are many places you can go to for free professional advice for this. I wish I had started when I was much younger so go for it!
I think this could be harmful because your skin is going through ';chemical changes'; with each skin care treatment you apply. You should try using the same products/combo of products consistently for 2 weeks to see the effect they have on your skin. In this case, less is better.
umm yes it bad for ur skin... i tht shldnt use diff face srubs..it will make ur skin even thinner and sensitive...i tht u shldnt even use face srubs...if u want can..2-3 times per wk..if not ur face will be thinner...umm i tht u can try using thakana facial wash frm sg website at 88db which will help to prevent acne frm forming..

But people with skin like yours tend to look good with most colors, especially in bright shades (bright blues, purples, greens-all good) You have easy to match skin :) congratsWhat colors would go good with my skin color?

Why must a black female have light skin and light eyes to be attractive?

Like for example compare Rihanna to say Gabrielle Union,I think Gabrielle is way prettier but people think rihanna is just cuz she`s light. Why must a black female have light skin and light eyes to be attractive?
    you don't..... look at these

    http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sjWtlWHshUA/R9…

    they are soooooooooo pretty

:)Why must a black female have light skin and light eyes to be attractive?
I think Gabrielle and Rihanna both have their own way of being attractive, I personally loveeeeeeee dimples, and they make Gabrielle so pretty, sweet, and she just looks more like a women a men should go for, where Rihanna, is a preppy little pop singer, i am not a much of a fan o her to be honest. I think you have to look at a person in every way to find them attractive, inner and outer beauty! And light skinned or dark skinned has nothing to do with being attractive, where i come from ppl like white girls, they are like Goddess, i have a white girls looks but not their features, and I get lots of attention more than ever! so, its really the whole package u gotta judge. Hope u had an idea of what i mean lol.

My vote here goes to Gabrielle Union.
This may come as a surprise to you, but I do not like black women with light eyes. And although blacks were psychologically brainwashed years ago to co-opt European standards of beauty, black women do not have to be light to be attractive. N ow if that is your preference, then so be it. But the Rhianna types do nothing for me. Nice talented lady, but I remained unmoved by the way she looks.
I think they're both drop-dead gorgeous. People who have a more tan-like complexion seem to be more popular probably because they appeal to the masses, more racial groups can identify with lighter black people. I don't think it's really about who is more attractive, or skin color. I think it's about the shape of their eyes, the curves of their bodies, and the light in their smiles.
    Who says lighter is prettier? My complexion is not terribly light, perhaps a tad paler than the afore-metioned Miss Union, but if I say so myself,I am most decidedly stunning.Beauty is about the entire product,both packaging and contents. A light skin may attract more attention immediately,but to quote the Scripture, '; I am dark,but comely,O ye daughters of Jerusalem,as the tents of Kedar,as the curtains of Solomon';
they are both gorgeous girls ! Both Gabrielle %26amp; Rihanna are pretty, and it has nothing to do with there skin colour :) there are many darker black females that are more pretty then white girls, or dark light girls, it doesnt matter on the skin colour ! everyones beautiful in there own way, %26amp; dark girls should be proud of there skin :)
Have you seen Ashanti, Tyra Banks, Beyonce, or Rihanna lately? Just to name a few? Look me in the eye, and tell me these girls aren't attractive.

Well I think that they are both very beautiful woman. i think at the end of the day it's all about how you feel about yourself. I am a beautiful dark skinned woman and I am very proud of me complexion. The wonderful thing about African Americans is that we come in a bouquet of colors.
what? lol.. if your attractive your attractive being light or dark has nothing to do with it.. personally i think it just stems from insecurity on the dark skined folks.

I think rihanna is prettier then gabrielle though.

dark skin is associated with toughness sometimes especially if you have the masculine features. Like alek wek

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
many americans consumed by the idea that light skin, blue eyes, blond hair is the true beauty.

Date backs to early centuries of European History
it is just hypocrisy in minority groups when they demand equal treatment for not being as light as Caucasian people, yet at the same time mistreat the darker ones
EDIT: Just saw your other question. So I take back what I said.

Answer to your question: i believe that BLACK is beautiful.
    It's just some peoples preferences.

    I prefer darker features.
    you don't....

    rihanna is prettier though
    hi im black...cept not
its watevr ur into i think rihannas prettier too but its not cuz shes light

What is the best moisterizer for dry skin for the body?

Kind of expensive but last a long time and worth it.

this may sound weird, but i use baby lotion...it works great and my skin is SO soft...like a baby's butt!! ^_^

  • Is it alright to eat the brown skin on a baked potato?

I'm not asking about the red potatoes or white skinned potatoes. My friend and I were debating whether it's alright to eat the skin on one of those large brown russet potatoes. I was always raised to avoid the skin, but just recently my friend told me he eats the skin. I have heard that since they are gown in the ground and the pesticides farmers use sink into the soil; inevitably sinking into the potato's skin, is it worth the risk to eat the entire potato? Is it alright to eat the brown skin on a baked potato?
Sure -- the entire thing is edible. At home or at a restaurant, just make sure the skin is scrubbed well. When I worked at a hospital, we used to run teh potatoes thru the dish machine before baking! :-)Is it alright to eat the brown skin on a baked potato?
I personally think that's the best part! Just make sure you scrub them off well before baking. Then I rub a little bit of butter on the skin, sprinkle with a tiny bit of sea salt, and wrap in foil before putting in the oven. Don't forget to pierce the skin in a couple places before putting in the oven, otherwise, you have potatoes exploding all over ICK!
    Yes, you can eat it.

Many restaurants actually serve mashed potatoes with the (brown) skins included.

If you're scared of pesticides, then really, you shouldn't eat anything that grows in the ground, or is raised on a farm, including beef, chicken, pork, turkey, and even soy.
Yes you can eat the brown skin. Make sure to wash the potatoe before cooking, but the skin is full of fiber and vitamins. I eat them everytime I have a baked potatoe!
Absolutely! Just be sure to wash it thoroughly before you cook it!
Best part of the potatoe is the skin - eat it all......
If you buy organic potatoes you will not have to worry about any chemicals. You should still wash your potatoes well and you will enjoy eating a well baked peel. They are very tasty. They have a lot of nutrients in them too. One thing you do want to avoid are green spots on potatoes. They are toxic and come from potatoes that are to shallow in the soil and exposed to light while growing. All you have to do then is peel the green part off, the rest is still fine to eat. More then you wanted to know, sorry couldn't help but add a little extra.
Yes, %26amp; I recall that it is also very nutrient rich. It should be washed ahead of time, though. Enjoy!
It's actually better for you to eat the skin, its like the whole kiwi thing, some people eat it, others don't. It's an acquired taste, however you do get more protein from the potato and it tastes better than the kiwi. haha. I like the skin, I recommend eating it.
your only going to eat one , so i would not expect any harmful effects, maybe a sack full a day might
Of course! just remember to wash it first. We used to scoop out most of the pulp, put a pat of butter in, and eat it all the time. They're delicious.

It's true that a lot of pesticides are used on potato plants, because the plant parts get very damaged by bugs. I couldn't tell you if potatos can absorb the chemicals or not.

The skin is pretty much the only healthy part of a potato.
yes! my family just chops up the potatoes and mashes them and we eat the mashed potatoes with the skin (yes brown skinned potatoes)
wow, I can not even believe this question is being asked, frankly. Basically there is almost NO nutritional value in the rest of a potato (the white part) the part of the potato that has nearly all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals is what has color. I have never in my life understood people peeling potatoes. what a waste of time and of valuable food. in fact, what i usually say is peel the potato and throw away the white part.
