What can you do to prevent your skin from sagging when you are losing weight, should I tone while exercising?

I'm 23 years old and I hear if you are under 30 and lose alot of weight, your skin most likely wouldn't sag. That is my biggest fear, I have lost 35 lbs so far and I don't notice any skin sagging or hanging, but I know the more you lose, the bigger the possibility. Any advice? What can you do to prevent your skin from sagging when you are losing weight, should I tone while exercising?
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Most likely you will be fine. What can you do to prevent your skin from sagging when you are losing weight, should I tone while exercising?
i used to weigh 439lbs now i weigh 210 i had gastric bypass and there is no way to get rid of your loose skin the the only way is to have it removed but i don't think i will i look at it this way i would rather have the extra skin than the extra weight
lose it slowly so it can go away if you lose it to fast it wont have time to tighten and it will sag

Does painting a room green really make skin look abnormal? How to avoid this?

I am interested in decorating an interior using greens but am concerned about the negative effects.Does painting a room green really make skin look abnormal? How to avoid this?
There are definite setbacks to painting a room green. There are also advantages (such as the calming effect it has on mood).

To avoid having a green tinge, avoid all pickle greens in a room that gets lots of light. Opt instead for an apple green room and always remember to use green sparingly in a room decor. In other words, there needs to be something to break up the green. To do this, simply don't paint all the walls green. Opt for 1, 2 or 3 green walls and do the others another color more flattering to the skin.

Or opt to break up the green in the room by using darker color furniture on the green walls - espresso coffee brown woods work good for this.

In decor accents, such as art, vases, lamps, cushions frames, etc., make sure you have some red in there. Just a wee little bit will tone down the green. Also, in your metals in the room, opt for adding golds instead of silvers. This will warm up the green and cast you in a better light.

Enjoy your new space!Does painting a room green really make skin look abnormal? How to avoid this?
No that doesn't happen no matter what color you paint. The only thing that makes your skin look abnormal is fluorescent lighting. Try to avoid that and you will be fine.
Okay, that is obviously a weird myth....or something. I have had a green room for years and i have had NO side effects. So don't worry.

How do I get rid of Dead Skin on my Face?

I have acne but did Accutane for 5 months and now have minimal acne. The trade-off though is now I'm getting a lot of dead skin on my forehead (dead blackened skin). What's really weird is that I can peel that dead skin from my forehead (certain areas) and it will come off but it will come again the next day in the same spots. I somehow think that dead skin from different parts of my face are shifting to those spots every day.

Short story is, what can I do to get rid of this dead skin? It's seriously a b*tch and it has been bothering me for months!

Should I do some kind of treatment like microdermabrasion or a chemical peel or something?

At the moment I'm just using a Biore acne wash product and Basis face wash.

Thanks in advance for your answers! I will be visiting a dermatologist shortly but may avoid doing that if you guys can provide me with a good answer. How do I get rid of Dead Skin on my Face?
microdermabrasion is fine but you don't want to use it oo often. It will strip your face of the essential oils it needs and make your face look flat and dull. I use Oil of Olay daily facials wipes. You wet your face, wet the towelette and wipe your face with it in a circular motion for about 2 minutes. Gentle enough to use daily. Rinse your face and put on a good lotion (I use Gold Bond Ultimate in the WHITE bottle/pump). I do this every night before I go to bed. I look 10-15 years younger. Much cheaper and safer than botox, restalyne, face lift....:) Good luck. How do I get rid of Dead Skin on my Face?
i had really dry skin that i could peel off too. difference was that it was white. i started using the new olay products. i have the facial scrub clothes and the creams. they cost a crap load but my skin has changed so much. no more dryness and really soft. dark spots also have been fading.
exfoliate!
Try St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub. It gets rid of dead skin. Hope it works for you!
Pls try using scrubber.....
try to use a mask at home and a cleanser with scrubbing beads that should help ya out.
Isotretinoin (the generic name for Accutane) %26amp; Risks of Taking Accuatne

Isotretinoin (the generic name for accutane) is used to treat the most severe and disfiguring cases of nodular acne. Most Doctors would only recommend this treatment only after all other forms of acne medication have been tried and proved unsuccessful.

Isotretinoin must not be used to treat women who are able to bear children unless other forms of treatment have been tried first and have failed. Isotretinoin must not be taken during pregnancy because it causes birth defects in humans. If you are able to bear children, it is very important that you read, understand, and follow the pregnancy warnings for isotretinoin. This medicine is available with your doctor's prescription and should be prescribed only by a doctor who has special knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of severe, uncontrollable cystic acne.

In deciding to use a Accuatne, the risks of taking the Accuatane must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. For isotretinoin (the generic name for accutane), the following should be considered:

1. Allergies

2. Pregnancy

3. Breast-feeding

4. Children

5. Older adults

  • Is it safe to eat stawberry tree frog as long as you remove the skin?

    Is it safe to eat the poisonous strawberry tree frog from the Amazon forest as long as you ';skin it';

I heard it's only the skin that is poisonous.

My brother caught about dozen of them during his trip to Brazil. Is it safe to eat stawberry tree frog as long as you remove the skin?
No it is not! the poison comes within the frog to the outside for defense mechanism purposes. you wouldnt want to eat any type of frog.Is it safe to eat stawberry tree frog as long as you remove the skin?
There's no strawberry tree in Amazon Forest. This frog comes from another place, or another tree...
Its safe to eat any frog with the skin on, i do it all the time
I wouldn't. you never know what food/plant/toxins the frog may have eaten in the amazon.
well, i don't have a definite answer for you but i certainly wouldn't be the one to find out.
i won't eat it if i were you!

I need a multi-vitamin with A, E, K, Zinc and others for healthy skin... any specific ones better?

I am trying to maximize the health of my skin, any specific companies that make a natural multivitamin for skin that actually works and contains all of the retenoids a beta-carotene and others for proper consumption of the vitamin A? I also hear Coconut Oil is great for digesting fat soluble vitamins and also helps use omegas that i am planning on getting from a hemp oil supplement. Please, all help is appreciated. I need a multi-vitamin with A, E, K, Zinc and others for healthy skin... any specific ones better?
VITAMIN CODE from Garden of Life

    SIX MultiVitamins with Food-Created Nutrients

http://win-edge.com/vitamincodemultivita鈥?/a>I need a multi-vitamin with A, E, K, Zinc and others for healthy skin... any specific ones better?
Well, any basic multivitamin will have some of the basic vitamins for skin health (A, E, Zinc, Biotin, etc), but I've never seen a specific multivitamin with added ingredients for skin health. You could always take a multi and take other ingredients that are good for skin health like Biotin, Silica (commonly from Horsetail), Squalene, Borage Oil (specifically for the GLA, Gamma Linoleic Acid), Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, L-Cysteine, Collagen, and most antioxidants (like Vitamins A and C among others).

Also, Coconut Oil doesn't specifically help the digestion of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K, specifically)... it just helps in the delivery of them. What I mean is that they need a fat to aid in their transport and absorption and Coconut Oil (as well as the Omegas you mention) is a fat. If they are all in softgels, there's no reason to take any oil with them because there's already oil in the softgels. However, Coconut Oil is good for quick energy and help against yeast, so you can still take it for other benefits.

    Good luck!
along with those vitamins invest in a bottle (capsules or tinuture) of Rosemary and Silicia gels.

What removes the smell of gasoline from skin?

    Regular unleaded... from your hands...

Yes, soap helps some but I can still smell it. Is there a better soap or product???

There was a gas station that gave out little wipes that helped a lot but they have closed down. Does anyone know what those type of wipes are made of?

My work moved %26amp; we don't have gas tanks at our new place so, in order to refuel the forklift, I have to use a gas can. I've already ruined 2 pair of gloves so I didn't use any today. Spilling it on my skin was unavoidable and the LAVA soap they have in the restroom isn't helping, nor is my apple Bath %26amp; body works. I smell like apple scented gasoline, help!!!What removes the smell of gasoline from skin?
I believe those little wipes have lemon in them. Maybe buy a lemon tonight and submerse your hands in the juice!? I don't know! :-) Hope that helps! What removes the smell of gasoline from skin?
at home you can try a brown sugar, honey, oatmeal mix, but on the road stop at a hooters and ask them to give you some wet naps.
Have not tried this but it might work: If you rub your hands over the stainless steel part of a sink or faucet , it will remove the odor of clorox or onions. You can also use a stainless steel knifehandle. Culinary stores also carry a small stainless steel square piece made specifically for this that you can use while washing your hands . Try the sink and see if it works , then getting one of the squares to keep at work would be worth it.
    olive oil
Get yourself a bottle of that liquid handsoap, Softsoap, kitchen formula, it removes odors from your hands, it has lemon in it, or a bottle of reallemon juice if you wanted.
A degreasing dish detergent, like Dawn, might take the gasoline residue off your skin. Lava soap is really harsh on your skin.

You can wet some paper towels with the detergent and water, to keep in a plastic bag and use like wipes.

Instead of gloves for this job, try using grocery plastic bags - they're free/cheap and can be tossed after use.
This is a hand cleaner called ';GOOP'; that is used for people who work on cars and get their hands greasy. It is a good product for cleaning your hands as long as you follow the directions properly.

Another suggestion: Instead of using regular soap, go to the grocery store and look for brown bar soap. There are several different brands. It is a large bar of soap that comes one is a package. It works wonders for killing different types of odors on the hands. Good luck!

How do you make green eyes pop when you have black hair and medium brown skin?

I want to know how I can make my green eyes pop more, you can only tell my eyes are green when you look into my eyes or they look brown from far away. How do you make green eyes pop when you have black hair and medium brown skin?
Plug your nose. Shut your mouth so no air can escape. Blow really friggin hard and they might pop out a little. My girlfriend does this all the time and its such a turn on.How do you make green eyes pop when you have black hair and medium brown skin?
Try a mix of lavandar and plum eye shadows (plum just at the eye line up and around the crease) if you have an eyeliner brush wet it and dip into the plum to use as eyeliner. My eyes are hazel and this really makes the slight green pop. So with green eyes it should really work! Good luck!
for green eyes, brown, purple, and a light blue should make it pop.

buy some blue liquid eyeliner, or a purple eyeliner and the shadow to match.

( use the same color in your eye shadow and eye liner when you apply. ..and sometimes the color of your shirt helps make eyes pop)
green smokey eyes; black mascara %26amp; black eyeliner.

Green eyes are stunning, they pop makeup or not, i have greeny blue eyes with blonde hair, i wear blue eyeliner but not all the way around then add a tiny bit of white/silver shadow on the inner corner of my eyes so they look bigger =)
Mascara, some eyeshadow like smokey look so you can till it's green compared to the grey/black shades!
Try wearing eye liner and maybe pulling your hair back more. Also, wear more bright vibrant colors, like light green maybe.
They actualy make products for eyes colors and they make green ones. it comes with mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow. I saw it at target! It really helps!!
purple always makes green eyes pop (my fiend has gorgeous green eyes..she wears plum eyeshadows..and sweaters..etc) looks gorgeous!
    highlight under your eyes

keep it natural - looking above
Purple eyeshadow, when done right, makes green eyes really pop. Chocolate browns and golds work well too.
deep purple eyeshadow makes green eyes pronounced :)
donno how well this will work but i would wear green shiny eyeshadow

What glue should i use for snake skin to make a bracelet?

i have a snake skin, i maked it soft and flexible (with the glycerin and alcohol), and now i want to make a bracelet.

can i use glue to glue it on a leather?

can i sew it? how must be the string. What glue should i use for snake skin to make a bracelet?
This is probably in the wrong category, but I'll give it a shot.

I would imagine that the glue would be fine, but I'd use something like rubber cement which won't make lumps under the skin. Once you have it very smoothly over the leather band, fold the edges under (snake skin a little wider than the leather) and sew it in place on the edges. You may have to take it to a shoemakers shop, they will have a sewing machine that can do the job.

Nothing wrong with having snake leather. Hopefully you obey the laws when catching one, and you won't take an endangered species. What glue should i use for snake skin to make a bracelet?
Are you using a shed skin or a actual skin. You better not be using a real snake skin from a killed snake. Its just in bad taste, so if you're doin that you pretty much suck.
Why would you use snake skin, a poor animal died because of you. I bet you hate animals, you probably have REAL fur coats and other things that were killed because stupid people wanted them.

Put your self in that animals place...

How would you feel if someone killed you and made a bracelet or boots or even a coat out of your skin. See not that nice.

YOU ARE AN EVIL PERSON AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU WOULD DO THAT. HAVE A GREAT DAMN LIFE.

    *Krstl*
Yeah...I bet you have fur coats and alligator boots in your closet. You sound like the kind of person who would...
I would just sew it because glue doesnt work will
Em i am hopin that u mean ur snake has shed its skin...if thats the case then i have no idea and em specify ur snake has shed so u dnt get abused

What's the best way to make skin thicker and more elastic?

Feel free to suggest topical products, or vitamins and nutritional supplements. What's the best way to make skin thicker and more elastic?
Vitamin C taken internally and externally in a cream or serum plumps it up. use SPF with the cream because it makes you photosensitive. Loreal also makes a good line that you can buy in the drugstore for mature skin... but how old are you? It may be too heavy if you are young... L'oreal is usually the best drugstore brand as far as quality... In dept. stores try Natura Bisse or Lancome or Chanel depending on your skintype. Minerals from the dead sea help, too. What's the best way to make skin thicker and more elastic?

Do not use any of the recommendations so far because they all have oils, alcohol or petroleum jelly or a derivative of. Instead get the Hydrating Creme Concentrate from Bee-Luscious. It actually hydrates your skin naturally instead of just covering up the problem. Plus the ones with oils (including olive oil) and petroleum jelly will clog your pores and you already have problems with acne.
this might sound crazy but here is my recommendation, first use Johnson's baby lotion in the green bottle with Aloe on your face at night and in the morning maybe 30 minutes before you put on your foundation. Second, use Noxzema to clean your face at night 2 to 3 times a week. Put it on, let it sit and wipe off. See if it makes a difference.
exfoliate and use a French cream as a moisturiser-they absorb better. make sure your soap is not drying and harsh-- maybe use a moisturising skin cleanser
beating dry skin can be an everyday challenge in individual's life. you must be aware that there are many factors that can dry the skin out and can rob moisture out of the body. and these are humidity, dry air, too much exposure to the sun and extreme cold weather. better try to have measures that can protect the skin from drying. adequate amount of water is needed to keep the skin hydrated. also, try using an all natural skin care moisturizer, this can help lock in moisture to the skin all day. avoid smoking and alcohol for they can dry out the skin. for more tips to be able to get rid of dry skin visit http://www.skinsosilky.com

One of the most important factors of skin care is skin cleansing and toning. Don't use anything available at the market. Use natural home made remedies. Making skin tonic at home is simple and easy. Here鈥檚 how to make one for dry skin:

鈥?Mix 戮 cup rosewater, 录 cup witch-hazel and 陆 teaspoon glycerin or honey and store in a jar.

鈥?Soak cotton wool pads in skin tonic and wipe face in outward and upward strokes.

鈥?Each movement should end at the temples. Apply gentle pressure at the temples.

鈥?While applying toner on the forehead, start from the center and go outward on either side, again ending at the temples.

鈥?Apply toner on chin in circular motions.

鈥?Tone the neck too, stroking downwards from the chin.

鈥?Tone around the eyes, but very lightly.

To prevent further drying up of the skin what is needed is a good, healthy balanced diet, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, 7-8 glasses of water, eight hours of sleep, exercise in fresh air and daily beauty regime. A regular visit to the beauty salon does most of the work too.

Avoid harsh soaps to prevent loss of natural oils and exposure to sun and air-conditioners which rob the water content of the skin. Good luck!

How do i get rid of dead skin on my face?

Whenever i apply conceal/foundation to cover up my acne/blemishes, the make-up doesn't go on smooth. Instead, it looks all flaky and the dry/dead skin shows.

I've been using a face peel and a clinique facial scrub to try to get rid of the dead skin. But it doesn't work! After washing my face, i use a mosturizer so it doesn't dry out.

What can i use to get rid of my dead/flaky skin on my face?? Help please! How do i get rid of dead skin on my face?
..with SCIENCE!How do i get rid of dead skin on my face?
That's happened to me before too.

I would suggest washing your face only once a day. If you shower then that's when you should wash it.

Don't use any face wash or soap.

    Lotion morning and night.

And try using Apricot scrub. You can get it in a sherbert-orange colored tube/container. It works great.

Just get rid of water, scrubbing, and soap.
There are some malls that have like a boutique of cosmetics from Israel that are dead sea mineral based! They have the best facial peel. All you have to do is massage it gently on your face and you will notice your dead skin flakes right away. Wash and then use a dead sea mud mask it makes you feel like a million bucks spa!!! Or try to get something like that in a natural beauty store/salon. It's worth it.
Sometimes lotion helps, but mostly you just have to use a washcloth or loofah sponge and rub really hard (ex foliate your skin) or at least that's what works for me..... xD
I have the same problem....I put moisturizer on right before i put my makeup on, it goes on easier and doesnt look as flaky. I use a really good lotion, like Eucerin or Cetaphil.
Make sure to moisturize before your skin starts to peel every morning, and before that, tone, tone, tone. I use Philip Roth Maximum strength toner pads, which works wonders, and has 2 % salycilic acid...so any product with that as an active ingredient should work well.
try a different foundation....shouldnt that be showing u something??...my cousin has used foundation for nearly 17 years she is only 34 but she has that much wrinkles on her face that she looks like she in her late 40s...

Go to ur local make up shop n ask them for a foundation wit moisturiser in it ..it may work

What is a good product to keep skin looking young for cheap?

I dont want to look old when Im twenty so Im preparing for the future. What is a good product to keep skin looking young for cheap?
I suggest that you use the Olay regenerist line. All of the products work GREAT for me.

I was suffering from fine lines and combination skin until I used Olay products. My skin is beautiful now. (No acne, No shine, perfect moisture, no lines, soft %26amp; smooth.) I highly reccommend taking care of your skin early on, there is no point to wait until your skin ages and looks bad. The whole goal is prevent that from happening.

I also treat my husbands skin with olay products and his skin is fabulous. So yes, this works for men too. What is a good product to keep skin looking young for cheap?
Crisco... It works as good as any high priced cream or lotion... and it works on your face, and other body parts too.
use a moisturizing sunscreen of at least an SPF 30 by neutrogena. use it when u go out in the sun. it will prevent sunburn, wrinkles and age spots.
Make pumpkin a part of your diet. Every other day if you can.

Have facials every now and again.

  • What's the best foundation when your skin is dry from Accutane / isotretinoin use?

I have been using maybelline matte mousse but because my skin's so dry now (even after moisturising) it looks sort of scaly where there are flakes of dry skin. It needs to be one available in UK shops and in very light shades - I have very pale skin! What's the best foundation when your skin is dry from Accutane / isotretinoin use?
max factor lasting performance, its really good.

also, get a facial to get rid of the flaky skin, and use a really good cleanser toner and moisteriser every night

What kind of brush to use with skin brushing?

I recently read about using a brush to brush your skin in an attempt to get rid of cellulite. The directions I found didn't specify a brush type (i.e. horsehair, plastic, wooden), and I was wondering if it makes a difference. Also, is skin brushing effective? I'm in decent shape, but than to my genes have cellulite that has settled on my rear and thighs. Any pointers to get rid of it (or just make it less visuable) would be appreciated. Thanks! What kind of brush to use with skin brushing?
Skin brushing is good! It stimulates the blood flow and exfoliates at the same time. Use a flat natural fibre fairly firm brush and always brush toward the heart in rounded motion. Massage in moisturiser afterward.Dont know if it gets rid of cellulite but it will certainly make your skin glow and feel good. What kind of brush to use with skin brushing?
Get a brush that wont scratch or harm your skin. Something soft, YET, it has to be firm enough to get the job done! Plastic would b good...

Ive heard of skin brushing before, they said it seemd to work slightly...you might have to try other techniques ALONG with the brushing though...like creams or the shots...

    Good luck!

Do you apply sunscreen before or after skin care?

I heard that you should apply Sunscreen with helioplex to bare skin, then put on other skin care products. But I have been prescribed an antibiotic lotion/gel for my acne. Will my antibiotic gel penetrate the sunscreen to help my acne, or will the helioplex not work when it doesn't touch bare skin?Do you apply sunscreen before or after skin care?
Can you use the antibiotic gel at night and use sunscreen during the day? I think that would be the best option. Otherwise I would put the antibiotic on first, give it a chance to dry a bit, then put on the sunscreen.

Some antibiotics can make your skin more prone to sun damage.

If you have concerns, you could always call your doctor or dermatologist. Do you apply sunscreen before or after skin care?
I would apply your acne treatment first, sunscreen last.
Before. 1, because it sinks in your skin and is more effective and 2, because it will smear any makeup that is underneath.

What is this fruit that dyed my skin?

Last night I picked up some sort of fruit off the ground that grows in my friend's back yard. It was a light greenish-yellow color with a very hard skin, almost like a shell of some sort. It leaked a little bit of juice on my hand, and I wiped it off, and everything seemed fine. A few hours later before going to sleep I washed my hands and there was no markings or stains. I woke up this morning with a dark brownish-green stain all over my fingers and palm where the juice had touched my skin. I've tried everything I can think of to get the stain off: soap, nail polish remover, gasoline, paint thinner etc... I even tried sanding the area with a fine sandpaper... nothing will even lighten the stain. Does anyone know what sort of fruit this is, what it is named and how or when the stain will go away? What is this fruit that dyed my skin?
It sounds like it might be an immature black walnut. If you've only seen walnuts after they've been harvested, you would never know that the hard walnut shell with the nut inside comes encased in a green fruit-like covering. You could easily be getting some early walnuts falling off the tree at this time of year - not necessarily mature, but the tree will drop some of the nuts early. Did you ask your friend if they know what kind of tree it is?

Anyway, if it is black walnut, you are just going to have to wait until the stain fades away over time, unless you are desperate and want to risk making your skin cracked and dry by using some diluted bleach mixed with soap, scrubbing, and then rinsing thoroughly. I wouldn't advise it, though, because even so you'll have stains - just lighter in color. It does look like you've got real dirty hands, though, doesn't it?

By the way, in ';the olden days'; walnut hulls were used as dye for fabrics. Some handweavers and artisans still use them for this purpose, because it is a pretty darned permanent dye!

How long does it take for the skin where a mole has been removed to heal?

So im getting a mole on my face removed, using radiosurgery, which is diffirent from an incision or it being shaved off, as it has a minimal chance of scarring. How long does it take for the skin to heal? And can I use concealer to conceal the area?? Thanks :) :)How long does it take for the skin where a mole has been removed to heal?
I had a mole shaved off earlier this year and it took about 10 to 12 days for it to heal enough where I wasn't putting medicated cream on it anymore. You can NOT put concealer over it! Just whatever your dermatologist/doctor tells you to. You don't want to irritate the area since irritation can make it scar easier. How long does it take for the skin where a mole has been removed to heal?
the face usually takes about 5 to 7 days to heal the body takes 10 to 14 days. No do not use concealer or make up on that spot until it is healed you do not want to infect that area wait until it is healed.

Getting rid of spots (caused by oily skin) without facial scrubs?

I really just don't have any time to go out to get a scrub and would like these spots to be gone in a weeks time any easy and effective home made remedies? Thanks.Getting rid of spots (caused by oily skin) without facial scrubs?
No homemade recipes, but a benzoyl peroxide cream like Quinoderm or Clearasil will stop your skin producing the excess oil, and reduce the spots in about five days.Getting rid of spots (caused by oily skin) without facial scrubs?
Spots are caused by bacteria on the face infecting pores. If you have a better immune system, you don't get spots as easily. Therefore make sure you eat well (lots of fruit and veg). Also they can be encouraged at your time of the month so be aware of that.

There are two ways to deal with spots- you can treat the spot or try to prevent it. As your skin is oily I'd suggest adding 10 drops tea tree oil (you can get it from holland and barrett) to a bottle of witch hazel (from superdrug about 2 quid). After washing your face (you should do this twice a day morn and night) rub over your face with cotton wool. Have you always had oily skin, was it ever very dry for a period before becoming oily. You could be stripping you skin of too much oil so its over producing.

If your skin isn't sensitive then dab tea tree oil straight onto spots, but bare in mind it can be a bit drying. Lavender oil is a bit gentler than tea tree, but not as good at making it less inflamed. If it is sensitive, then dab the witch hazel solution onto spots during the day.

There is a skin care range called Witch that my sister uses and says its good, so that's worth a try. She uses the foaming face wash.

Exfoliation (facial scrubs) do contribute to good skin. Dead skin cells can block pores and cause black heads and trap bacteria. So try to exfoliate once or twice a week or more if your skin can deal with it. A good cheap natural scrub you can make is by using a coffee grinder to grind up sunflower seeds. Mix with a little water and massage into your skin.

A toner will rid you of excess oil and freshen the skin. Astringents tighten pores and therefore make them look smaller. Witch hazel is a good astringent.

    Mint-Vinegar Toner

1 tbsp dried mint ot 3 tbsp fresh mint

    2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 cup distilled water (or you can use rose water if you can't find dist. water)

The acid of the vinegar will help keep you skin an acidic Ph which will guard against infection.

Mix all ingredients together. Stir thoroughly and allow to sit for 3 days. Strain or filter the mint leaves. Pour toner into a clean bottle and apply to face with cotton wool..

    Strawberry Acne Mask

    1/2 cup fresh strawberries

    1 egg white

    2 tsp honey

Strawberries contain salycylic acid which is in many commercial products for acne/spots. Honey is a well known antibacterial ingredient. Both are beneficial if you have spots. Mix together using a blender or fork. Spread over your face and neck and leave for 20 mins. Rinse with cool water and pat skin dry. Refridgerate any leftover for up to a week.

If you use make-up and use your fingers in pots of foundation, concealer etc then make sure you wash before you use so you don't introduce bacteria to it, or use a spoon or cotton bud to get it out.. Keep your hair and hands off your face, your hair will aggravate your skin and your hands touch door handles, toilet locks, and surfaces which all will have lots of bacteria on!

Get plenty of sleep and try not to get stressed out which can cause spots! Good luck with your skin.
Neutrogena makes a spot gel kind of stuff, and you just rub it on the spot that is starting to come up, and the gel just takes the oil out of it. And you can rub a super-thin layer on your face everyday to keep oil of of you whole face. It might dry your skin out, though, so make sure you have some really good oil-free moistruizer. I reccommend Biore's pore-minimizing moisturizer, because it's got sunscreen in it as well.
Try using ST IVES APRICOT SCRUB for oily, acne prone skin,blackheads/blemishes this is a great deep cleaning exfoliator that gets down under the skin it will definetley help prevent future breakouts great for pores and blackheads ive had major problems with acne for almost 7 years and i have tried everything (no exaggeration) and st ives has by far worked the best for me and its only $3 cant beat that my skin has never behaved so well!!! lol Exfoliation is great for removing dead skin cells which will remove red marks and acne scars

I use lemon juice with a cotton ball once daily great for acne acne scars oily skin and blackheads

Smear Vitamin E Oil Caplets on the scarred area.

Smear some tea tree oil on the scar to help it heal faster.

Put 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and apply on scar.

Blanch green tea, soak a cotton ball and apply on the scar to help it heal.

Mix Aloe Vera and vitamin E gel caplets and apply to the scar.

Rub honey on the scar as often as you can to make it heal.

Smear any oil on the scar and massage to help it heal.

Rub some olive oil on scars 2-3 times a day.

For acne scars: Mix 1 tablespoon of sour cream ( 0% fat for oily face), 1 tablespoon of yogurt, 1 tablespoon of grind oatmeal and 3-4 drops of lemon juice. Apply on face, leave for 10 minutes and wash off.

Any form of vitamin a such as gel capsules or retina a

I noticed a couple years back when i was sun tanning my scars faded just make sure to use sun screen now im dealing with sun spots!!l lol

1- Wash your skin with glycerin based soaps or sorbitol based cleansers

In order to keep your skin oil free and clean from dirt it is very important to periodically wash your face water using glycerin based soap. By using glycerin based soap or sorbitol based face cleanser, you will get rid of all your skin鈥檚 oil without over-drying or irritating it. Also another reason for using these types of soaps is that they also balance the acidity of your skin, this creates a hostile environment for bacteria to grow resulting in a cleaner face.

    2- Oatmeal facial mask

Oatmeal is known to be a very good in help you maintain an oil free skin by absorbing it. All you have to do is make a thick paste by mixing regular oatmeal and water and apply it to your face for 10 to 20 minutes twice a day, preferably in the morning and at night before going to sleep. Rinse the paste off your face preferably with cool water.

3- Honey and apples facial mask

Another very effective facial mask for those with oily skin is made from honey and apples. Just make an apple paste and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of honey mix it well and gently apply it to your face, leave it to work for 15 minutes, the rinse it well with warm water.

    4- The famous toothpaste remedy

Spread a little toothpaste on your zit before going to sleep at night. This is supposed to reduce zit swelling. It鈥檚 one of the most popular home remedies because it really works.
t zone sell a really good wee roll on spot thingy , it's quite astringent and basically kills the spots and you just roll it over the spot like a lipgloss type of thing and i find it great as I also have oily skin and the redness of the spots get reduced greatly.
Stop eating all those chips, sweets and big macs. Then drink plenty of water instead of alcopops. That should do the trick!!
what i usually do is before i go to bed dam a bit of tooth paste on my spots and this dried them up and then after you should moisturise and soon they will go away...good luck =]
    Wire brush and Dettol
all you can really do is get some kind of scrub. If it's important to you, you will find the time, or have a friend or family member pick some up for you.
clean and clear get the wipes so you dont have to spend long on it just wipe your face over x
    This really does work!!

Take 4 aspirin and dissolve them in a drop or two of water

Then add quite a large amount of honey and mix it together.

Then apply to the area affected and leave for 20-30 minutes.

Do this once/twice a day and it should start working,

    It worked for me!!
use water with baking soda. that should help a little bit. and make sure you dont stop moisturizing just because you have oily skin. if you wash your face without moisturizing it, your face will produce more natural oils.

  • What does drinking water do for your skin?

I never really drink water anymore.

I drink a lot of pop.

And also, does water reduce the appearance of unwanted black hairs on your body? What does drinking water do for your skin?
Not only is water good for your entire body, it's essential in healthy nutrition. If you stop drinking pop or limit yourself to half a liter a day (which is still a lot), and drink more water you will see a difference in your skin, hair, and bodily functions. You need to drink at least-- at LEAST-- half a gallon to a gallon of water a day. Now remember, changes don't happen over night, it make take a while for your skin and the rest of your body to get to where it needs to be. Just keep drinking that h2o and be patient! What does drinking water do for your skin?

The top five foods for healthy skin

Printable version Key concepts: water, skin care and healing foods.

Can the right foods really reverse disease?

    by Mike Adams

Transform your health, reverse chronic disease and free yourself from dangerous pharmaceuticals by mastering the seven laws of nutrition.

    Learn:

    * Why most modern diseases are actually a result of nutritional deficiencies that can be easily corrected.

    * The four key steps to changing your life and achieving any level of health you desire.

    * How food processing companies strip away as much as 98% of the natural nutrition in foods.

    * Why you can't afford to wait on conventional medicine: To be healthy, take charge NOW!

Click here to start learning now.

The U.S. cosmetics industry raked in more than $32 billion in 2004, with sales of skin care products bringing in the largest share -- more than $8 billion. Americans are shelling out big bucks for expensive cosmetics to treat skin problems such as acne, wrinkles and dryness, but most consumers are overlooking the cheapest, safest and most effective remedies: healing foods.

A host of healthy, natural foods offer potent healing and preventative powers to remedy a wide range of skin troubles. These foods can dramatically improve skin for a fraction of the price of costly cosmetics or dermatologist visits:

    1. Green Tea

-- Green tea is rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation and protect cell membranes. It has been proven to reduce the damage of sunburns and overexposure to ultraviolet light, which in turn reduces the risk of skin cancer. Green tea is also high in polyphenols -- compounds that eliminate cancer-causing free radicals.

Recent research by scientists at the Medical College of Georgia shows that the polyphenol most abundant in green tea -- EGCG -- also acts as a ';fountain of youth'; of sorts for skin by reactivating dying skin cells. In addition to its skin-healthy properties, green tea is also high in vitamins C, D and K, as well as riboflavin, zinc, calcium, magnesium and iron.

    2. Salmon

-- Salmon -- along with other fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseed -- is high in healthy fatty acids that are key for achieving healthy skin. Essential fatty acids such as omega-3s help keep cell membranes healthy by keeping out harmful substances as well as allowing nutrients to enter cells and exit with waste products. Omega-3s also reduce the body's production of inflammatory agents that can damage the skin.

Increasing consumption of omega-3 fatty acid-rich foods such as salmon will help keep the skin supple and youthful. A 1:1 ratio of omega-6 fatty acids to omega-3s is ideal, but the ratio in the typical American diet is more like 20:1, so boosting consumption of salmon and other oily fish can help bring that ratio closer to 1:1. Salmon is also rich in protein, potassium, selenium and vitamin B12.

    3. Blueberries

-- Blueberries are considered by many experts to be the highest food source of antioxidants, which target free radicals that can wreak havoc on skin cells. The antioxidants and phytochemicals (plant sources of nutrition) in blueberries neutralize DNA-damaging free radicals, reducing cell damage. When skin cells are protected from damage and disintegration, the skin looks younger for longer. Blueberries are also an excellent source of soluble and insoluble fiber, vitamin C, manganese, vitamin E and riboflavin.

    4. Carrots

-- Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, which is a required nutrient for healthy skin. They also contain high levels of antioxidants, which prevent free radical damage of skin cells. Vitamin A is required for developing and maintaining skin cells, and a deficiency of the vitamin can cause dry skin. Carrots are also a superior source of fiber, biotin, vitamins K, C and B6, potassium and thiamine.

    5. Water

-- Drinking plenty of water -- at least your individual minimum intake -- will help keep your skin young and healthy-looking. Water in caffeinated or sugary beverages does not count; water intake must be from pure, clean water, which rejuvenates skin cells. Water both hydrates cells and helps them move toxins out and nutrients in. Nutrition expert Liz Lipski, PhD, CCN, says when the body is properly hydrated, it sweats more efficiently, which helps keep the skin clean and clear.

In addition to consuming therapeutic quantities of green tea, salmon, blueberries, carrots and water, consumers should avoid certain foods that trigger bad skin reactions. Such ingredients include sugar, white flour, saturated fats and fried foods, which are especially bad for the skin, since they can trap oil and bacteria beneath the skin, causing acne and other skin ailments.

The skin is considered the outside indicator of inside health, and putting expensive creams, lotions and treatments on the outside of the skin can't alleviate problems that stem from inner nutritional deficiencies. Consuming the right foods and avoiding the wrong ones can reveal beautiful, youthful-looking skin without the high price tag of expensive cosmetics.

Note from Mike Adams: An important ';overlay'; factor on all this concerns raw foods versus cooked foods. Raw food juicing is the surest way to healthy skin, and I recommend juicing fruits, vegetables and nuts (soak them first) in a Vitamix to create superfood smoothies. People who drink raw juices on a daily basis have skin that absolutely glows. On the other hand, those who eat mostly processed, refined or cooked foods have skin that ages rapidly. So be sure to include raw food smoothies in your diet on a daily basis if you want great looking skin!

If your face goes red when you wash it with cleansers then you may find you have sensitive skin. I found out about a couple of year ago that i have sensitive skin after building up a sort of intolerance to the products i had been using. I have just started using a product called Aesop which is the first product i have found that is great for my skin is mostly natural and is not too expensive i recommend going to their website and taking a look.

I think avon Anew retroactive cleanser/toner is a good one. And the Anew max all in one cream. It will get you off to a good start
Take some quick cooking oats and a little honey. Mix that with some sour cream . Let it sit on your face 20 minutes then rinse off with cool water
stop using alcohol based exfoliant... and dont use an exfoliant for a while until you get the old moisturized skin you have. just use a moisturizer for the meantime.

    good luck girl!
    peel off mask

try: ';beautiful face'; from Freeman about $8 in CVS

apply thinly. let dry for 15 minutes. repeat if nessicary. works best when done right after you get out of the shower

It peels of your dead skin, and moisturizes it too.
When my face gets irritated from cleansers I gently wash it with some Vanilla Honey Skin Revitalizer. It soothes my skin and not to mention smells like cookies lol.

I get it at Midnight Fairy Inc
You should only exfoliate 2 or 3 times a week unless recommendation is less than that should be all you should be doing. It may not be you over doing it you may just have a little bit of an allergic reaction to the formula since it's still red. Are you using lotion? or Moisturizer FOR FACE. You just have to give it time. Also if you are not make sure to cleanse, tone and moisturize. Make sure the product you are using is right type for your skin. There are for normal to oily, delicate/sensitive, and Moisture who needs extra moisture. Don't peel the dryness try using a warm cloth instead and rub on face gently then apply a moisturizer or lotion. Skin absorbs the moisturizer or lotion better when skin is still damp or wet. But make sure to not rub your face dry JUST PAT DRY then lotion it.

    Try this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QD4鈥?/a>What is the best foundation for light skin and where can i buy it?
It took me YEARS to find the ';perfect'; foundation for my fair skin. I finally found it in Estee Lauder's ';Double Wear'; in the shade ';Shell';. It works REALLY well as both a foundation AND a concealer, especially if you use a foundation brush. It diminishes pores and it lasts all day long in any weather :) The best part about it is that you can get a complimentary sample at any Estee Lauder counter so you KNOW which shade works best for you. Then you can buy the right shade at the counter (about $45, lasts forever if you use a foundation brush) OR for less on Ebay :)What is the best foundation for light skin and where can i buy it?
I have a botanically based skin care, health and wellness company. We are new to the UK.

Our products are botanically based, hypoallergenic, never tested on animals, contains no animal products or by-products, ph correct, dermatologist tested and contains no mineral oil. So they are a lot healthier for you.

Our foundation is VERY light.. it feels like you have nothing on at all. I did not wear make up before trying our foundation. I love it becuase it feels like nothing at all and looks VERY smooth.

You can purchase from the website. If you have any questions, please email me directly from the website.

    I hope this info helps!
Clinique sells a shade 01 in Perfectly Real Makeup that is fairly light. I am very light and this has been the best match I could find for my skin. You can purchase Clinique at department stores like Macys. Perfectly Real Makeup helps give the appearance that your skin is smooth and it has a very natural look. It makes you look like you are wearing no makeup at all! Cost is about $22. You can go to Macys and have them try the shade out on you to see if you like it.
Bare Minerals of course! Just go to Sephora.com and you can see tons and tons of reviews on it. Apparently a lot of other people like it too. They have combination starter kits that you can buy. You can get one for $18 or $60. For what you get in these kits, its a good value. You don't have to sit their and figure out which exact color your skin tone is so it's not too hard to get the right match. If you are fair, you get the fair kit, and if your light - you get the light kit. I bought one last summer and I just ran out so I just bought the $60 one two days ago to restock. I love it because it works and its good for your skin. I put it on in the morning and I just have to touch up with mineral veil by lunch time and it lasts me through out the day.

The $18 one fits your budget, although you would have to pay for shipping. But I think that its worth it because why waste your money on cheap stuff when you can get real good quality stuff?
I currently use Mary Kay products and I have fair skin tones. They also have the new mineral podwer foundation and it is great!! You can go to this wb address and pick out colors that would be great for you. She also ships for free!!! www.marykay.com/csivley2008

Wash your hands frequently and try not to touch your face very often.

Wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed.

Does anyone else out there have darker skin between their legs around their bikini line?

I am pretty fair but for some reason I have darker skin down ther and I don't know why or how to get it to blend with the rest of my skin. Do any other women have this problem? What did you do? Is it a problem or just the norm? I am 22 and on the pill if this means anything. Please tell me how to get rid of it.Does anyone else out there have darker skin between their legs around their bikini line?
I do have slightly darker skin there, but I've NEVER had any complaints. A girl bit by any other color is still a girl bit!Does anyone else out there have darker skin between their legs around their bikini line?
if you had since you remember that's means from a Little girl that could be a birth natural when a woman she is pregnant and some time like to eat something like chocolate or anything but can not find and she will touch anywhere on her body the child will be born with dose marks but you should check with your family doctor to make sure is not something wrong.
    Ive got it too. don't know why. a Lil embarrassed about it, but i don let it stop me from having ';FUN';
just go out tanning and really cover this area up, that way the rest of your body will be the same color.

Would it be racist to paint my skin black for Halloween?

This halloween I was planning on going as a pimp or a gangster. To really complete the look, I was considering coloring my skin black. I have nothing against black people, and I was just wondering if anyone thought it would be racist?Would it be racist to paint my skin black for Halloween?
Just be a white gangster.Would it be racist to paint my skin black for Halloween?
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but that would be very racist. I dressed up all black (i didn't paint myself black, but all my clothes/acsessories were black) and somebody asked what i was and i said a black person (although i didn't mean it like they thought) and they got really mad at me and guess who didn't get any candy from them? anyways, don't paint yourself black. there are white gansters/pimps too you know. hope this helped!
um, idk but i know my mom dressed up as Foxxy Cleopatra from a halloween party at her work last year and painted her exposed skin with brown paint and everyone loved it!

    answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
depends on who your planning on being... i would say it wouldn't be im mixed an d i get tired of white people being called racist's so i wouldn't think it would be racism to do that but like i said it depends... good lick
don't do it, you will get beat up, seriously....besides, it IS racist to assume that all pimps and gangsters are black.
Only white people are racist so if you are some other ethnic group other than ';White';,you should be just fine. Of course you are probably gonna get your *** kicked before the night is over.
    nah, thats freakin hilarious bruh.
If I were you I wouldn't do it; but that's you. Because well a lot of people will find that very offensive and racist obviously.
Someone would undoubtedly think it was racist.
If you even have to ask then the answer would be yes. Plus there's a lot of white pimp/gangstas.
Try being a blue man instead.
    uh, yeah.
how many black people are in your town? will they see you?
    YES!! it would
    i think it sounds funny

What can you use to protect the skin from fiberglass?

My Fiance just got a job with fiberglass, and it keeps going into his skin. We already know the basics gloves, mask, boots, long sleeve shirt, hat...ect..., but I heard there is a cream or something you can apply to the skin to act as a barrier? Any suggestions to what that may be?What can you use to protect the skin from fiberglass?
dusting down with baby powder will help, don't be afraid to use a bunch. What can you use to protect the skin from fiberglass?
I deal with fiberglass a lot, don't know of any cream that will prevent getting it. What he should do is as soon as he gets home take a tepid shower not hot, cool is better. Hot make the fiber flex and they will work in to his skin. So start with a cool shower then switch to hot.

i wish there was something you could just apply to your skin.
I'd recommend Tyvek disposable clothing, it will block the fiberglass better than street clothes. Taping the seams to boots and gloves helps too. You can find them in 2 piece suits or jumpsuits...we used to buy them by the box, any safety equipment dealer will have them in stock.

There is a lotion you can use to help form a barrier on the skin, but its used more by painters, or mechanics, than folks working with fiberglass. Here is a link to one such product - http://liquidglove.com/

Rinsing off with cold water will help a great deal -- it'll remove the bulk of the fibers, and close the skin pores. Use hot water, and the pores open up, allowing for more irritation.

    Good Luck

What should i do if theres no skin around my belly button ring?

Okayy well i hadd my belly button pierced for about 4 months now and it sorta seemed infected like it would be crustyy,, butt then yesterdayy i just startedd noticing that there was like no skin inbetween the two balls. Is there anyway of fixing this or should i just get it repericed???What should i do if theres no skin around my belly button ring?
your belly button is pushing out the belly ring. it will continue until it either pushes out the ring or you rip it because its so thin. some people have this type of reaction to belly and eyebrow rings...because there is so little skin to pierce in the first place, the body treats it like the foreign object that it is and attempts to rid it from the bodyWhat should i do if theres no skin around my belly button ring?
take it out ASAP and let it heal then get it redone!!!!! that happened to me and mine ended up getting ripped out and it hurt and bleed and it wasnt worth it!!! just take it out and let it heal!!!
prob go 2 ur MD cuz its probly infected or som sort of skin irritation. ur Doc'll probly tell u if u should take it out or get it repierced or not. Wat ev u do betr do it fast, it sounds bad!

  • What makeup should I use for sensitive skin?

I have very fair, very sensitive skin and it seems like every sort of foundation/cover-up/powder that I use, including natural and Bare Escentuals, my face feels like it's extremely wind-burned after minutes of putting it on. Does anyone have this problem? Do you have any suggestions? I have to wear something, my face is white with red blotchies all over it. YUK!What makeup should I use for sensitive skin?
clinique is the best they are hypoallergenic. its the best all their products are safe to use on ultra sensitive skin. its sold at macys and many other department storesWhat makeup should I use for sensitive skin?
try Clinique foundation and powder. they have make up for all skin types. I have sensitive skinand I don't break out from it. Maybe try a sample at the counter before you buy it.
almay is really good if you have sensitive skin and eye make eye shadows that bring out the colour of your eyes there really good and cheap
    try marykay
    clinique
Neutrogena works really well for sensitive skin and it can be found in all the drugstores.

You can also try Clinique, but it is much more expensive and can be only found at department stores.
Same right here. i'm fair skin and my skin is very sensitive. i have acne and red bloches all over my face and yeah use Neutrogena. i just started to use it and it really covers everything up on my face and don't go for something tan cause having two different skins tones really make it look fake. (advice) good luck!!
Bare Essentials. I used to sell it when I managed a day spa. It is completely mineral and won't irritate your skin. It also keeps your skin from break outs. It is a little expensive but it lasts a really long time.
    try clinique
Try the Pure make-up my Maybelline

My face is sensitive and this stuff works for me.
Almay is wonderful, and so is Physicians Formula. I like them because they are gentle and both are available @ Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, etc. Physicians formula is a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny. You want cosmetics that are non-codmegenic, fragrance free and oil free. You also might benefit from changing your skin care regimen, and moisturizing often. Also, you may want to just try using a concealer on trouble spots instead of covering up your whole face. Too much makeup can be overwhelming to sensitive skin. It could be how much you are using as opposed to ';what'; you are using. There is also a brand of cosmetics called Clinique sold @ Macy's. They can help you formulate a regiment and design a makeup/skin care plan that works for you, especially! Usually consultations are free! Hope this helps some! Good luck.
goi to sephorah they will give you the best answer id say try isadora but im not positive..hier pros over there so stop in and ask 4 their advice!

Are there alternatives to aloe to prevent skin from peeling due to sunburn?

Clinique has a miracle after sun emergency gel. It feels great and if you start fast enough you will not peel even a little bit. it actually progresses the burn to a tan amazingly fast. we buy tons of it and give as gifts during the summer. Are there alternatives to aloe to prevent skin from peeling due to sunburn?
Skin is damaged and will peel no matter what you use. Report Abuse
Are there alternatives to aloe to prevent skin from peeling due to sunburn?
There's a spray called solarcaine, it relieves burning sensation and moistureizes. I still think aloe is the best. Once you start peeling it's too late. When you get sunburnt you need to get the aloe on and keep it on, especially right after showering. Also avoid sweating as much as possible, the sweat doesn't pass threw the burnt skin as easily and causes peeling. NOT ALL ALOE IS CREATED EQUALLY, somewhere on your bottle it should tell the % of actual aloe, you'd be surprised some barely have any. good luck, next time just put on some sunscreen even lower spf's will help a lot
Scentless lotion with moisturizing properties should help with the peeling but I wouldn't say prevents it.

Peeling is a natural way for you body to get rid of the dead skin after sunburn.

    It's how you heal.
I've had good experience with calendula cream. While it does not have the cooling effects that aloe has, it's definitely better than aloe in terms of moisturizing and healing. The brand I use is Jurlique.
you can put milk of magnesia on it. you can buy it at any drugstore. it will prevent peeling and take the red right out :) hope that helps.
milk might be able to give you some relief from stinging, but not necessarily helping your skin to regrow....
Try everything balm. Just google it. It works amazingly!!!
Sticker paper can help relieve sunburned skin.
i like to find out myself, my skin burn really bad when i am out side at the sun

    The transport functions include:

transporting carbon dioxide and nitrogenous wastes from the tissues to the lungs and kidneys where these wastes can be removed from the body.

Carrying hormones from the endocrine glands to the target tissues.

I have the same problem (and also briefly thought it might be rosacea -- your dermatologist can tell you if it is). Turns out I'm just a bit ruddy complected. I have found it helps to drink about ten glasses of water a day and keep skin super-hydrated with a very good moisturizer (Laura Mercier's Perfecting Water is a miracle -- put on under moisturizer). Also, avoid harsh exfoliants. Exfoliating, of course, helps keep skin bright, but can enhance redness. Do it gently -- preferably with a mild chemical exfoliant rather than something with harsh scrubby bits. How do you get a nice even skin tone?
Try Eucerin's Redness Relief products or Aveeno's Ultra Calming products.

Bare Minerals. I use it, everytime I do, my friends say boy you are looking good girlfriend-it's worth the price.
Use sunscreen specially made for the face. Or use a mosturizer with an SPF. I use Clean and Clear oxygenating face mosturizer. It has an SPF15 and it really helps my skin even out its tone. Nuetrogena is also a good brand that makes makeup that also helps your skin! So that way you can cover it up and fix it at the same time!
use concealer that suits your skin tone
    physicians formula- miracle working stuff
Exfoliate often! Apricot scrub works great for me. Depending on how old you are and on your budget, you may want to try a peel at a spa (they have different kinds for different needs). Also, they have a skin color enhancing cream at Bloomingdales (I forgot the name of it). It's pretty expensive, about $119, but I heard it works wonders!!

Can a person absorb aluminum through the skin, by handling solid aluminum?

I've heard many times that it's unhealthy to store or cook food in aluminum, due to leaching, but will this apply to handling aluminum. Also, I heard that most aluminum is coated with a layer of something, to prevent oxidation; is this true? Can a person absorb aluminum through the skin, by handling solid aluminum?
Well, aluminum can be absorbed through the skin. The first actor for the part of the Tin Man in ';The Wizard of Oz'; nearly died because his makeup was made from aluminum powder.

And aluminum cookware is suspect in some diseases (like Alzheimers), but this is a) long-term exposure, b) internally, and c) most of the aluminum was either etched off (by food acids) or scraped off into the food.

Solid aluminum forms an oxide coating which is very hard. (Unlike rust, where the oxidized metal is loose and flaky, oxidized aluminum forms a hard, smooth coat that doesn't easily rub off). I'd say the dangers are very minimal.

If you're concerned, wear work gloves! Can a person absorb aluminum through the skin, by handling solid aluminum?
Pure soft shiny aluminum develops a thin tenacious layer of aluminum oxide that retards further oxidation (unless worn off). The outer layer of skin is dead horny matter that resists penetration by metal atoms. However, some people do develop allergies to metals and perhaps metals dissolved in sweat (acids?) may get through to live tissue. Handling aluminum may not have been proved harmful but skeptics likely will take less chances.
If aluminum were really a big health hazard they would have banned deodorant years ago. Most of it is aluminum based and people smear it on themselves every day for their entire adult lives without any harm.
well i dont think so, this would occur if there is any degree of solubility of Aluminum in your skin, in fact there is no diffusion!
The coating is put there by anodising.

I'm looking for the matte finish look, you know?

I have yet to find a good foundation that doesn't make my face so oilyWhat is the best foundation for oily skin?
I sell AVON in SC and one thing that women love is the MagiX. It reduces shine and if your face is sensitive, it's perfect because their makeup is all hypoallergenic! MagiX goes on really smooth and stops your face from shining for about 10 hours. I have really oily skin so I have the worst time trying to keep my face from being so shiny, I could instantly tell a difference with this compared to other products. Also, it's colorless so it doesn't matter what color your skin type is. You can wear it alone or apply it before your foundation which helps it last a little longer instead of having to reapply your makeup every few hours! Let me know if you are interested, you can find it online if you don't have a local AVON lady. If you want to shop online at my store, I have a free direct shipping code! Just let me know and good luck!

The best foundation in your case is no foundation.

If you put any foundation or concealers on oily skin it will just clog up your pores and aggravate the condition further.

If you really want the ';matte finish look'; I would suggest Nivia Tinted Moisturizers as it doesn't clog the pores.

So for a while try using a combination of some Clearasil cleansing products for oily skin and the Nivia Tinted Moisturizers.

    Hope I helped :]
I would say use a powder, my skin can be quite oily so I use a mineral based powder. Try the Body Shop, their mineral powders are amazing but quite expensive. Other brands of makeup do their own versions but I recommend mineral as it is kinder to your skin and not so heavy, I've found I don't get as many spots.

How often or should i exfoliate my skin?

Hi I'm 16 and I have oily skin. I get spots generally on my chin and on my forehead. I was wondering is it important for me to exfoliate.. I never do.. Will this help open my pores? How often or should i exfoliate my skin?
If you have oily skin, you can generally exfoliate two to three days a week without any harsh effects. Obviously, you should skip the exfoliation or do it less often if your skin feels dry or irritated, or if it looks red and flaky.

To open your pores, try putting a damp towel in the microwave for a tiny bit, and then stick the warm towel over your face. It will open your pores. How often or should i exfoliate my skin?
Yes it will help your skin a lot and you should do it about once every other week and if your skin is that oily do it once a week I hope this helps :)

How do you take care of your skin and hair in humid New york?

What kind of products do you use for skin and hair? How do you take care of your skin and hair in humid New york?
I LOVE the humid weather only because it works to the advantage of my hair! In this weather I rinse or co-wash daily sometimes 2X/day. I spritz with a leave-in before headingout into the sun and humidity and the grime that is NYC.

Skin- One very light coating of jojoba oil all from head to toe lasts the whole day! If I get a little dry I keep a light lotion in my purse. NO MAKEUP..whats the point? Lip gloss, clean face, great groomed eyebrows. How do you take care of your skin and hair in humid New york?
    cleanser, astringent, scrub

whenever your at home keep your hair off your face
Well in order to answer better I would have to know your hair texture and skin type (dry, oily, combination) but I would say use something like John Freida Frizz-Eaze if you get frizzy or fly-away hair, and try to wear your hair up so it doesn't get as sweaty. I use the same face stuff year round, like the Biore heating mask or the new Garnier Fructisse detox cleanser but in the winter I use moisturizer too.
New York? With all the air pollution? You don't have humid air in New York you have stiffling air. Try living in the south and experience humid conditions. Humidity is good for your skin, it provides natural moisture.
put a hat on and don't look in a mirror
AC, 24/7. NOBODY looks good here unless they do that.

What is a way to keep my skin helathy?

I wash it every day but that's it. I don't have any zits or problems or anything, but I want healthier looking skin, you know? Do facials help? Atnything in my kitchen I can make to help? lol. What is a way to keep my skin helathy?
    me too!

drink a lot of water. milk is good too.

wash your face, probably once in the morning+night.

facials can help, and just eat healthy!

oily, unhealthy junk food can cause more zits. you don't want that. What is a way to keep my skin helathy?
The best way to keep your skin healthy is to keep your body healthy...Clean yourself from the inside out, and your skin with glow with radiance!....
drink lots of water, and they make facial scrubs that help remove dead skin cells, that also helps you look healthy with a nice glow. I like the Swiss Formula - Apricot the best.
Facials do help. Also exfoliate twice a week to remove the dead surface cells. If you want to make your own mask, you can use an egg white for tightening and toning your complexion, or honey for moisturizing......providing you are not allergic.
use a good moisturizer. It helps keep your skin fresh looking.
Use a cleaners, then a toner then moisturize.
A big key to healthy skin is plenty of H2O, yep simply water. Drinking plenty of water keeps skin hydrated and healthy. Facials will help your skin look and feel amazing because products such as peels, scrubs, and masks help sloth off dead skin cells to rejuvenate your skin and increase the production of new skin cells.
Just keep a good skin care regimen. Cleanse you face day and night, use a toner and light moisturizer with at least spf 15 (or at least a sunscreen) in the morning to protect you face from the sun. You can exfoliate your skin once a week. And make sure to remove your makeup every night if you wear any. Neutrogena has a gentle line of skin care products. I would use a regular line and not acne products. A simple, natural face mask you can make is make a paste of oatmeal and water, apply it to your face, leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off. Oatmeal is good for your skin, absorbs excess oils and softens your skin. It's also good for soothing any skin irritations you may have. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. It seems to be working for you. If you have clear skin, just keep it simple. If your skin needs change, they you can add other products for those particular needs.
    water, lotion, and eating healthy
DRINK LOTS OF WATER! This will help your skin better than anything.
    Washing your skin

    - Use warm water and limit bath time.

    - Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps strip oil from your skin and makes it dry.

    - Avoid irritating additives. If your skin is sensitive, avoid products containing perfumes or dyes. These can irritate your skin and may trigger an allergic response.

    - Remove eye makeup carefully. Use a soft sponge, cotton cloth or cotton balls when removing eye makeup to avoid damaging the delicate tissue around your eyes. If you wear heavy, waterproof makeup, you may need to use an oil-based product such as petroleum jelly.

    - Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on the skin. Immediately moisturize your skin with a lotion or a cream.

For kitchen cosmetics, you can follow this link:

    http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prair鈥?/a>
To start out with things drink at lease 5-6 glasses of water a day. This will give your skin the moisture it need and it will make it glow! Also, try to avoid soda and coffee-it makes your skin look dull. If you don't already try to do some workouts maybe run around the block once or twice exercising this boosts your blood flow and makes you look and feel a lot better. Always remove your makeup before you go to bed and try to change your pillowcase once or twice a week this makes your skin less oily because now your not sleeping on nasty oils left from your hair. Finally, eat good foods like seafood, chicken (not fried, i know what a bummer), eggs oranges, walnuts, and avoid sugary cereal like cap'n crunch and eat a good cereal like Kashi blueberry crunch. Hope all of this helps!
Drink a lot of water. It helps!
Drink a ton of water. It cleanses the body %26amp; it helps clear-up skin %26amp; helps a ton of other things also!
wash your face at least twice a day with something gentle, like Cetaphil, and drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated. Use moisturizer at night and eye cream and a face lotion w/spf during the day to keep your skin well nourished. Once a week, use a scrub or mask to clean out the toxins of the week.

How can you be proud of your skin color and hate someone elses?

You were born that way and so was the person you hate. How can you get mad at them for being born?? How can you treat children different because of their skin? Like in that swim club! WTF!?How can you be proud of your skin color and hate someone elses?

What do you use for your daily skin care?

I'm 15 and all my life I've been using soap and I think I'm missing out so much on my skin care already! Please tell me about cleansers and moisterizers and and makeup remover, which ones you use, and which products can clean throughly and gently! I'm really grateful I don't even know the basics! What do you use for your daily skin care?
yeah ill be 15 this july

i use proactiv. it works like magic! the moisturizers that come with it work really well. a little goes a long way with that stuff.

i also like bath %26amp; body works lotion. its so soft it makes your skin as soft as a baby's bottom! lol

other than that i dont put a ton of stuff on my face.

i used to use this amaaaazing moisturizer by smashbox, called ';picture prefect'; or something like that. it was made with ingredients from apricot and more, and softened and gave your skin a picture-perfect finish :)

before proactiv, i used Oxy facial pads, and they didnt do a whole lot for me. one day i washed my face with oxy pads in the morning, then Sea Breeze ones at night. the next day i woke up with a terrible bumpy rash on my face.

i read the back of both packages to see if i had any allergies.

i saw that it said ';do not combine with other products. it may cause irritation or rash'; and it sure did!

what i used to try to cover the rash was my moms Bare Mnerals. its good cuz it wont clog your pores and cause more acne. the only bad part was that im a little too pale for my moms Bare Minerals kit :D

good luck finding products! What do you use for your daily skin care?
natural ingredients are always the key... aloe vera is one of the best natural ingredients around and is highly used in skin care products Report Abuse

ummm i use baby lotion it make your skin super soft. and the best make up remover is vaseline. in case you didnt know lol. it doesn't sound true but it is i promise! i just close my eyes and run it across the closing line to get my eyeliner and mascara off. i dont wear any other makeup except for dance recitals and competitions. and when i do i use the same method. and clean and clear acne cleanser works well with your face. i use coacoa butter for scars.

    sooo yeah

    add me please
i used dermalogica for a while and it works really great! my skin cleared up so much! they can be quite expensive especially for a 15 year old but its definately worth it! i recently read somwhere that some of the top models in the industry dont even use cleansers or toners because its applying chemicals to ur face, so they just wash their faces with warm water, and so ive been trying that n my skin has stayed clear too! i hope that helped a bit
I would suggest using a paraben free and all natural product like Harnn %26amp; Thann. It is a top brand in Asia and is only now making it to North America... Their body butter is amazing! They have a face mask that will change your life!

Well every morning and every night I use a daily cleanser that really cleans your pores out and have my face feeling soft, smooth, and tingling.VERY GOOD YOU ARE CLEANING YOUR FACE WITH SOMETHING THOUGH.
im as old as you and i use stridex in the red container, twice a day... it works, and it cheap!

    hope i helped!
The Biore skin care line is awesome!!!
rosaderm is a sulfur based facial cleanser, and it's amazing and really gentle
I use this neutrogena oil-free thing. I dunno what it is! But neutrogena has a lot of great stuff!
