After school, I'm a bit oily so I go home and wash my face with a cleanser. Afterward my face isn't oily anymore but now it's toooo dry on my cheeks (below my eyes) and on the sides of my nose. I don't know what to do! Please help! What is best solution to my combination skin problem?
Sorry to hear about your problem. I have the same issue, too and it's a pain until you know how to deal with it. First, you should be cleansing twice a day and PAT dry afterwards, so it sounds like you are off to a good start. After cleansing you should spray a freshener/toner (alcohol free) on your face to bring your skin's pH level back to normal. I use Dermalogica's Multi-Active toner. Pat this onto your skin. (The freshener/toner is not absolutely necessary, because your pH will normalize after about 30 minutes. Consider it though if your face feels tight after washing it.) While your skin is still damp from the freshener, put a pea-sized amount of moisturizer onto your finger and spread in light, upward strokes over your skin. I use Dermalogica's Intensive Moisture. It works great for me on the dry areas. Most importantly, you should be exfoliating your entire face and neck twice a week. This will help with your dry areas. I use Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant. It's so gentle you can use it everyday, and my skin is alot smoother after I use it. If you don't want to use an exfoliant, at least get a facial cleansing sponge or a facial brush from a local beauty supply store (they are about $2). Use the sponge or brush with your face wash to help exfoliate. Don't scrub hard, though. These Dermalogica products have worked for me out of everything I've tried. I mention the brand because it was what I learned about while in school. I don't care for all their products, though. If the brand is hard for you to find or too expensive, have someone like your mom order it for you off of eBay. That's where I get mine from now-it's ALOT cheaper there. Oh, and make sure it says it's unopened in the listing. Hope this helps! What is best solution to my combination skin problem?
OK! You have to wash your face with the cleanser, then put a low oil lotion on your face so it won't be dry. (Even Proactive kits, include lotion which they tell you to use for the last step)
I used 2 be like that, get a moistureizer try
Olay- active hydration- sensitive skin
